I was actually just tested because I have a lot of the same symptoms that Quill had. Wonky period, fatigue, weight gain etc. Well, my test came back normal, even with the new guidelines. I guess it's something else, but until they figure it out I'm on a strict diet :D

Same of these same symptoms can be attributed to PCOS, too.

Yeah, I know. Either way, there's got to be something they can do. My dr gave me anti-depressants. Yeah right, that will help me with all these things >.<

Tif, what does NaPro mean? Naturopath (sp)?

NaPro (Natural Procreative, or something like that) technology.  These doctors specialize in female health problems.  (I use them for my PCOS.)  But, as a rule, they are far more proactive on the thyroid issues than most other doctors I've seen.  (And believe me, I've seen dozens.)

http://www.naprotechnology.com/

They're worldwide, and they have relatively standard protocols of treatment, after asking you to track your symptoms and cycles for a few months.  I've been happier with them than with most of my other doctors.  (And the results I've gotten with them have been fantastic, in comparison.)

I have hypothyroidism. Over the course of a year my thyroid completely tanked. I have to take Synthroid (medicine) every day forever. It isn't so bad I guess.

EDIT: Yes, you need an endocrinologist. I get my thyroid tested every year and my endo checks in with me and manages my medication/blood levels. I started through my GP but got a referral to a very good endo. You really want an endo because they are specialized in these things and can keep on top of things for you.
