OMG.  There were these toys...
Um.  Figures, animal shaped.  Roughly the same size as G1s, but a bit bigger?

Anyways, one was a purple lamb, and one was a horse (maybe pink?), and they both had clear wings filled with water and glitter.   Ringing any bells for anyone?  I still have the little plastic golden charms tha came with them.

AHHH and these tiny keychains with little scented dolls in them with huge hair.

Why can't I rememberrrr the names of anything?  :P

I grew up in the late 90's but had older relatives that gave me toys. I had a Furby, which kind of freaked me out. I also had Diva Starz, a Wuv Luv, a view master with several different little discs ( one i particularly remember was sesame street), Whats her face?, Betty Spaghetti, Hamtaro, LOTS of Pokemon, Care bears, a Lite Bright, Tamagotchi, Sky dancers, G2 mlp, barbies, easy bake oven, lots of old rainbow brite tapes and stuffed animals, strawberry shortcake, polly pocket ( I remember having a wedding chapel set <3), and i remember REALLY wanting a Lisa Frank doll!

They made Lisa Frank dolls?!!?! To google I go!

I'm with Capsule, I'm more of a '90s kid. :) (Hey! I remember Diva Starz! I had Nikki. And I thought that the world had entirely forgotten Betty Spagetty!) I was born in '89 so late '80s/early '90s things tend to be quite nostalgic for me, even if in terms of design only.

Yesterday, I hit toy gold in the fact that I went thrifting and found my first Rainbow Brite thing (a sprite that "sings" and still has its Taco Bell tag), my first Wuzzle (Eleroo), and my first ever ICE CREAM DOLL. She doesn't have her ice cream anymore but she's adorable and I love her and I'm elated to have her!

Other than MLP, I also collect Darlin' Dinos, Brush-A-Loves (though I only have one), Tumble Surprise, Beanie Babies, Crash Bandicoot toys, and Dream Pets.

I also collected Spongebob toys when I was a teenager, but Spongebob came out in 1999 so merch didn't really show up until the 2000s, which means it's technically not really a '90s thing. Oh, and Monster High of course. Can't forget those. :D I also collect Pokemon and Disney things just on the side.

I love perusing through GotD - it brings back so many fond memories.  I definitely collect vintage toys for their nostalgia value...they remind me of the simpler times of youth. :)

I grew up collecting G1 MLP, though my main collection as a kid (and as an adult!) is definitely G1 LPS.  I have a G1 LPS reference web site, and one of the fun projects I've been working on there is to compile memories, photos, and childhood stories about LPS from other collectors:
http://www.vintagelpscollector.com/nostalgia.htm

Although I don't actively collect other 80s/90s toys anymore, I used to have Enchanted Kingdom horses, Grand Champions, Strawberry Shortcake, Popples, Fashion Fillies, Cherry Merry Muffin, Puppy Surprise, etc.

Another great vintage toy site (with gorgeous photos!) is the 80s Toy Ark blog: http://the80stoyark.blogspot.com/

I'm very fortunate that we never threw away or gave away any of my old toys. I have them all in boxes in the basement :) And while I just save some of them for the sake of all the memories, there's others I've evolved into collections.

What I collect from the 80's/90's is My Little Pony (obviously), Care Bears and Barbie. Ok so Barbie was created way earlier than the 80's, but she was still a childhood toy ;)

Other than that I still have a load of Polly Pockets, Littlest Pet Shop, Sylvanian Families, Quints dolls, Puppy In My Pocket, Magic Diaper Babies, Pound Puppies and Teeny Weeny Families saved. Yes my mother spoiled me with loads and loads of stuff as a child, and still does. But it's her way of showing affection >.<. Anyway, on topic again, thanks to that I have pretty big collections even of the things I don't actually activly collect these days :P

Once the Ponyroom is done I'm gonna see if I have space to display other toy collections too. I hope so, but I'm afraid the ponies are gonna take over completely and leave no space to any of the other collections :P
