« on: July 12, 2012, 04:07:55 PM »
I have some manky, balding so softs I want to have deflocks of, but want to know what stuff to use and steps to do it. I didn't see anything in the tutoring thread so thought I'd ask. Trying to get my mind off my moms stuff.

I've been curious about this myself but was too shy to ask. XD My Shady needs some help.

The tutorial is over in Customs as its more a Custom than a cleaning thing :)

Check out Pops thread here http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,283445.0.html which has a link to Unicornucopia's Deflocking Tutorial

Good luck!

Where can you get Jasco? I asked at an auto parts store (they have paint remover and acetone) but they said they've never heard of Jasco. Is it available in the US? Also, what kind of oxygen cleaner?

Lowes is the only place I know of.  Home Depot doesn't have it.  At least not the one near me.

I am pretty sure Jasco is a US product as I dont ever remember seeing it over here...according to their website you can find it at "Lowes, Home Depot and ACE Hardware stores nationwide" :) But as fardreamer has had no luck at the middle one I would guess not every store carries it.

I think by oxygen cleaner she means something like oxiclean.

Ok, thanks! I'll get some Jasco and Oxyclean and see what I can do :) I read somewhere not to boil ponies with bright yellow hair, is this true? I'm trying to deflock a Shady and I don't want her hair to fade onto her body!

Yes the shocking yellow hair of ponies like Surprise and Shady is clearly not colour locked and is prone to leaking colour and discolouring anything its mixed in with!

Just make sure to either ensure her hair is completely covered or simply doesnt get in the water. Good luck!
