Author Topic: Need Help. MH broken arm peg. Fixed it! (Read 684 times)

I found this Cleo second hand, and have plans on customizing her. She didn't have any arms when I found her, (got replacement ones thru Mattel) but didn't notice at the time that one of the arm pegs was broken off in the arm. I've tried everything I can think of to get that thing out! Tweezers, pliers, needles, dental pick, boiling the body, and cussing. Anyone have any clue how to get it out??

I don't know if it's work but I've heard of people getting the end of hot glue sticks hot and using it pull out Blythe chips, I've also heard of it for Pullips (which I know for a fact can be extremely hard to get out) so maybe you can apply the same principle since the warm hot glue might be able to get in there and "grip" the peg.

I'm pretty sure it won't but i've never really used hot glue around my dolls so, I can't say for sure, but it doesn't melt eyechips, i don't think it'll melt MH plastic

Well, I did do some of that in between the cussing.

Yeah, I have a Spectra with exactly the same problem. I want to use her for a ghost CAM and really need to figure out a way to get that darn peg out. Grr. :<

Hubby fixed mine for me by using one of my tiny eye screws. He twisted the little screw into the broken peg and then once it was in enough to get a grip on it, pulled it out!

Well, after trying everything everybody suggested, and several google and and youtube searches, I gave up. I cut into the arm just enough to get at the broken plug. Even then, it still took a while to get the broken piece out of the little thingie that holds the arm in place. After I put it back together, superglued it in place, and I'll reinforce it/hide the cut with some apoxie clay. Looks like I'll be repainting.

Haha, thanks! That's actually a G3 Spunky the camel someone commissioned.

She has her hair wrapped up in baggies and painter's tape so I could airbrush her without getting paint all over the hair.
