Any luck finding Ponies at your local Once Upon a Child?
« on: July 12, 2012, 11:46:56 PM »
I was thinking about trying there.. Anyone ever score Ponies at their local Once Upon a child?

I emailed asking what kind of toys they have. I'd hate to waste a trip here so in case they don't get back, I figured I'd ask here. I always thought they sold toddler stuff like puzzles and ride-ons..

Is that a second hand store? I've never heard of it before.

Not sure if it's strictly US based or not. Heck, I didn't even know it was a chain! There's one a few blocks from my house that has been there forever, but I've never been in. From what I can tell, it's a second-hand store just for baby/ toddler age kid stuff. I'd be interested to hear if they have ponies, considering there's a store so close to me!

Some people have found some. It's pretty much just the luck of the draw. Last time I went mine had a nice playset, no ponies.

I found a G3 Celebration Castle and some other G3s there once.

There's another store that's similar called "Kid to Kid". I haven't been to one in awhile, but I did get a G3 gumball machine there for $2. They had a bunch of G3s at the time, but they were all ones that I already owned. :)

I see them there all the time, but usually their prices are kind of high. I have gotten stuff there though, including a complete AJ farm set for $5 and a bag of G3's. I see a lot of the G3 playsets mostly. My local store just downsized their toy section though and the people who work there aren't very nice so I don't go often.

I've found G1s and G3s at Once Upon a Child. Lots and lots of G3s.

So many G3'S. XD I think we have to factor in that they're a consignment store, NOT a charity/thrift place. As such they only take really clean gently used toys that they think they're going to be able to sell. This is likely why G1's don't show up as often, because they're not always in the best of shape after 30 years in someone basement etc.
