Lady Gaga for me too! Refused to listen! And then I fell in love with her. I think she's got clever commentary as well as fun songs XD

Also skinny jeans. Hated at first. Now I wear skinnies more than bootcut!

emo-tronic Furbies. I was loving and collecting the original 1998 ones long ago, yet I found the 2005 emo-tronics creepy all along... until about a year ago, I, upon browsing a local auction site I spotted an emo-tronic in a colour I have never seen before, and it had so beautiful eyes... and I fell in love with it! I bought him, brought him home, and soon enough, I was already doomed, and now I have 7 of the new ones too
(I still find the emo-tronic babies creepy though :scared: however, if I find one for a decent (khm, really decent) price I think I might get one. some of the adults keep asking about and for the baby, and it kind of makes me sad I can't present one for them)

I tried and tried to think of something, but honestly nothing came to mind. Normally I pretty much stick with my tastes. I have a few things I  might think I would hate and end up mildly liking, but I never just end up loving them. I'm an odd duck.

Oh so many things, mainly movies. One time my husband took me to see Wall-E and didn't tell me what we were seeing til we got there. That was one of many movies over the years I wasn't sure I'd like and sure enough I did.

Soy milk, lol.  I had to go off dairy when my baby was really young, so I had no other choice.  Now I prefer it in my coffee and cereal.  My husband can't stand it, but one time I ran out of milk, and put "Silk" in his coffee instead (it was actually an accident, but I gave it to him anyway, to see if he'd notice), and he said "great coffee, hun" which he never says....  Then I told him what was in it, and he suddenly hated it.  =P

Ponyville.  I thought they were completely hideous when they first came out, but gradually they won me over and I just love the wee little ponies!

The MLP:FIM series. I keep telling myself "No! In it only for toys! Getting into the show will only end in tears!". Looking back, giving in and liking it not only ended in tears, but also in me getting lacerated at TVTropes, the MLP Facebook page and Amazon, almost three months absence from various forums, depression fits, several suicide attempts, a few broken friendships, and a broken heart that has not fully mended even until today despite achieving enlightenment and marking FIM as discontinuity from the toys and even trying to convince myself that the show doesn't exist.

lol Not quite set...but when I heard all about Harry Potter, I wasn't interested in it for the longest time...because almost always, if it's uber popular, I never end up liking it.  LOL Boy was I wrong!  I found the first two books in paperback on sale at Zany Brainy and decided to try them out.  The rest, as they say, is history.  It has become one of my absolute favorite obsession/fandoms.  : D

Same with The Lion King.  It sounded really boring.  It became and still is my absolute favorite movie.  Period.

I remember when they first started making dvds. I hated them! It made me furious that people who had hundreds and hundreds of videotapes were forced to buy a new device to play dvds and had to replace all their videotapes with expensive dvds. I even told my mom NOT to buy them EVER! It actually took me quite a lot of years to accept them and I finally allowed my parents to buy us dvds. I admit dvds are better quality, they don't get worn out as fast and they have a lot of cool futures (well some times). I also really like the idea of minimizing the amount of waste that ends up destroying the earth, but I'm just so bad at changes (and it still irks me that we have to spend money on getting all the movies, we already paid for once, again).

Now the market is trying to make us switch to blue-ray and once again I'm acting like a stubborn old woman, refusing to buy them even though I know they usually have a lot of cool extra materiel (the improved images is wasted on me, I can't see the difference) XD

Destiny, I refuse to own ANY DVDs, BlurRays, or whatever the next thing is.  I would rather rent them.  Unfortunately my husband is the opposite of me and "tries to catch them all!".  I hate the collection of dvds we have that we never ever watch and that will "need" to be replaced in order to be up to date.  I hate these ugly boxes sitting on shelfs.  Hate them.

I was against E-Readers initially but I now have a Kindle and love it. There's nothing like the smell of a new book and I'll still be buying my favorites, but books take up so much space and I can take so much with me when on the go with a Kindle.

On the subject of books, I was also one who took forever to give the Harry Potter franchise a chance, and when I did I absolutely loved it. I remember catching the first movie on television one night after work and thinking that it wasn't what I expected at all so I went out and purchased all of the books soon after. Ever since then I've been more open minded about popular franchises and try to see what all the hype is about myself before forming an opinion.

When I was younger I was scared to death of animals like reptiles and arachnids, but now I own  both as pets. :)

I've always been one of those people who said they would never willingly eat organs as food and recently my housemate cooked up a Cajun dish of wild rice, blood sausage, and goose liver and it was surprisingly one of the best things I've ever eaten, so it's really made me reconsider going more out of my comfort zone with food lately. He made it for my boyfriend who just couldn't get over the idea of it, so I decided that I didn't want our friend's effort going to waste and that I'd bite the bullet and try it. He was happy that at least one of us enjoyed it, lol.
