My co-workers Mom tried one of those shirts on their retired greyhound who is scared of thunder, I will tell you now if you have a greyhound who usd to race don't use them xD. Their dog thought is was his old racing gear and starting trying to race around the house xD

My kitties are going nuts!!!!!

Mine didn't do anything.  Occasionally the orange one would look at me and make noises, but I told him to hush and he was fine.  LOL  He was just making sure it was all still ok.  XD  No one else had any problems.  I was really surprised since the new rescue is kind of skittish but she slept through it all.

My family all went elsewhere to parties and came home to a very upset doggie. She had even ended up peeing on the floor which she NEVER does. Poor baby

Best thing to do is to lock them up in a room with no windows - they might try to bust out of a window in fear.  Keep it dark.  Toss a sweaty shirt into the dog bed so they smell your scent and can be comforted by it.  If you can snuggle them or put on a cuddle shirt, that also helps.

Just DON'T let them be anywhere they could escape!!!

Many years ago, we were dog-sitting for a friend who was out of town during the 4th.  They had the dog tied on its run line, and in terror, it leaped the 8 foot fence and came to a very short stop.  :(  We came by in the morning to give food, water, love, and a walk, only to find the dog hanging from over the fence.  AWFUL!   Digging that hole in the hot sun of July...  yeah... that was a good reaffirmation that dogs need to be INDOORS during fireworks!

I hope that everyone's pets made it through the holiday safely!  :D

Comet, when he was still with us, would shake but take it if he was in someones lap.

Coco barks. Like it was some kind of robber at the door.  And he doesnt stop for awhile

My dog is so relaxed, she has never been spooked by loud noises. Now she is deaf and can't hear them anyway.
Two more little devils jumped over the wall.
Saying turn her out father, she'll murder us all.
To my fal-de-ral little law-day.

My dog doesn't care, but my parents' Great Pyrenees flips out during fireworks.  We were able to get a Thundershirt big enough for her, and it calms her down quite a bit.

I've never owned a dog who was afraid of fireworks or thunder.  My dachshund was nervous of thunder at first, but I went out on the patio with him during a storm and we played with a squeaky toy until he forgot all about it.  He just associates all "boom" sounds with that now.

For dogs that are afraid though, they make pheromones that you can put on a little sweater and put them in it.  It's called a thundercoat I think.
