Help Deciphering How much hair needed?

Ok peeps it has been a long weekend and need help deciding how much to order hair wise for 3 styling customs as well as some commissions.

Have 3 G3 Styling baits (2 pinkies and a rainbow). I did one recently but completely lost track of how many normal Dollyhair hanks need to rehair???

I also need help or experience deciphering how much would be needed from the main sites as torn between different colours.

So: Questions one - on standard without mixing how many hanks DH normal hair need to rehair one styling G3 custom?

Dollyhair is down currently - how does above translate to how many hanks or best way to order?

mylittlecustoms - they do the XL hanks approx 31 inch length and 1.5 ounces for saran only, anyone know what this translates to? How many needed styling?

retrodolls uK - new site to me and perusing. 38" long hanks equivalent to 4 hanks for £6 or 7-8 hanks for £12, not used before - any tips on ordering and good to use?

trying to figure best way to order, as no one site has all the colours I need (well DH might when back up)

I think I used 3 regular sized DH hanks for a G3 styling.  Not a clue on Retrodoll, but I'm loving the Jubilee mix.

I've heard different answers... from 3 to 8... depending on how long you want the pony's hair and depending on how many colors...
I have not id about Retrodoll though I do plan on ordering from the US sister site when it's up..

Good point, I used 3 hanks of a 2 color blend, went for long hair.

EDIT to ask if anyone has used UK restoredolls any idea on postage? I may just attempt an order.

I only used one hank of DollyHair/MyLittlePonyHair for the Littlepip custom in my avatar, but I gave her short hair (long hair looks messy, always dragging on the ground).  But, my Berry Punch is taking two hanks since I want to style the hair more.
