I like Punzie ok but not enough to pay her going rate.

What I really don't get is... FiM. Why is celestia so big? Why not more color variety?  While I'm glad people like ponies this just seems like weird pony anime. I know ppl love it but it baffles me.

Hasbro is just going overboard with her, breaking the 4th wall and her constantly being in your face. I loved how she used to be random, but now she's stupid for the sake of being stupid, so it stopped working for me. Their TV persoanlities do affect how I like their toy versions. I used to keep Pinkie Pie by my bedside table, but not anymore!!!

Oh do you know the 4th wall issue with Pinkie was what actually put me off her a little at the start of the second season. She continues to be my favourite but I really wish they would stop doing that! She has gone from 100% loved to about 80% for me - you are right how the "toy" is portrayed in the cartoon does give you a residual emotion thought towards the physical toy as weird as that sounds!

Haha some of the other pony collectors know I am such a cartoon freak. I like to collect my G1s according to how they are like in the cartoons. I was such a fan of the G1 cartoons, so I tried to play my toys according to how they were like in the shows. Of course I modified some pony's behaviour, like Wind Whistler was no longer nerdy and Paradise was some Surfers Paradise beach babe instead being a lore keeper. Megan was the only one whom I did not associate with the cartoon because for some reason they look different to me. The toy looked like a young girl to me while the cartoon Megan acted more like a teenager, and Megan wasn't just close to Sundance in the cartoon, whereas the toy was.

I found Megan annoying in the cartoon not because she was human, but because the ponies looked up to her and she's always seemingly so... USELESS!!! She tends to cause more trouble than help. My toy Megan was definitely a lot less of a bimbo.

I think when the cartoon is "so" big as we are seeing with G4 its much easier to associate toys with their on screen characters.

I wasnt aware it was something I did...but when I think back Rosedust was the Queen of all my ponies [including lord - or lady - ing it over Majesty] when I was younger...so maybe I watched MLP The Movie a few too many times to be that influenced!

I work in marketing and find the whole cartoon-toy link up for promotional purposes fascinating - especially the way cartoons now seem to feel the need to "force" extreme characteristics on characters to make them memorable enough that little girls and boys remember which one they want when in store!

Also, I LOVE Twilight Sparkle's character and personality. But the G4 toys make her look kinda mean...
