bc/victoria pony hunting?

so im up in victoria for a week+ and ive got a lil spare time to hit some stores...are theyre and specific ones anyone here can recomend?....theres 1 TRU a walmart and a superstores...ive hit them 3 allready..(and aside from the cardboard pop up blind bag houses) ive struck out.....

but im wondering if there are any smaller stores that i wouldnt even think of checking

EXACTLY..and the fact that im in canada and not in the states where home is..is a BONUS

i figure ill hit up good will valuevillage and the like tommaro in hopes of finding some older stuff.....but this 12% tax is killin me

It always confuses me in the States that the price on the ticket is not what I pay at the till! All our taxes are built into the price on the shelves over here which makes calculations much easier - although sometimes I think that gives retailers an excuse to over charge.

I hope someone can help you out with the best places to check...

guess im one of the fortunate few who doesnt have a sales tax...so going anywhere with a sales tax screws with my head lol

Oh yeah, BC's 12% tax is crazy...  

Hmmm... have you looked in the phone directories for "Free Shops" or thrift stores?  Free Shops are barter, you have to bring stuff to trade with people for what you want.  They are quite popular in BC as I understand.
