I have Akoya, and she isn't look too great. Her wig is absolutely horrible, but I'm already buying her a new one, and I'm okay with waiting for it to arrive.  But her body is a much more serious of a problem. Her body is type 4, and Type 4 bodies are really bad quality. It's stained, both hands are blue, and I hate all the horrible squeaking it makes. I would obitsu her, but I heard that you could simply use a Liv Doll body.


I have a liv doll that I got a thrift store and I'm happy to use her... but can someone explain the proccess of rebodying Akoya? Thank you so much

i have never used a LIV doll (all my girls are obitsued)
you have to remove the wig....or pull it up enough to get to the screws and plate at the back of her head.
a tiny phillips screwdriver is needed to get the screws out of her head plate
when you take the plate off it will look like this

you need to be sure that the neck peg is sanded down low enough ( i believe in the type 4 heads the peg has to be really low, cause the eye mech is mounted lower than in the older girls (you may also want to wrap the peg/neck area with tephelon tape, as there have been issues with pullips head plastic reacting with the plastic from other bodies and melting)
