Share pony mishaps and surprises!

Everyone's had some kind of .. interesting thing happen to them with their ponies, right? Whether it's something you did, something unexpected that happened with a pony, or what - what are interesting experiences you've had to share?

I had one yesterday.. lol. I got G3 Cinnamon Breeze at a secondhand/thrift store, and I thought "Ooh! Maybe she smells like cinnamon! " so I sniffed her hair... and she smelled like smoke. :S

Anyone else have any interesting stories?

Ack that sucks lol

I got a lot of ponies from someone in a swap...but I unknowingly missed one.  I found her a couple of weeks later on my cluttered floor, all wrapped up.  It was a nice surprise!

My daughter sneaks in my pony room and takes Spike and Baby Lickety Split (she loves the movie )

Sometimes, I have to search for a while before I find them again, and when I do, I swear, both of them look up at me with those big bold eyes as if they're saying "We're too old for this Lady, put me back on my shelf"

I bought what I thought was a baby Cotton Candy with pink hair for 99p a few years ago. Well thank lordy for blurry pics, when she arrived it was a NBBE Lickety Split with pink hair. nice.

So, when I first got back into collecting a few months back, I tried going to yard sales and thrift stores and other such places to look for G1s or at least some baity ponies with no such luck. :/ I was so discouraged, I threw a mental hiss fit and banned myself from wasting gas money on thrift stores for the time being...

However, one day, my mom tricked me into 'back to school' shopping for my little sister (who was already in school at the time, so I didn't really understand...; She wears a uniform, so it was odd) at Goodwill. I had visited four different Goodwills multiple times and I wasn't even going to try looking for another pony because I was so upset with my luck. Well... The pony found me! G3 Rainbow Dash. She was mixed in among a big basket of Easter baskets and things with some fakies. I dug her out and cleaned her up enough for a possible custom. Just goes to show, when you least expect it, you'll find what you're looking for. It was a nice surprise, too!

lol, didn't happen to me but it was the first thing I thought of

Before I put her on the highest shelf, my cat was constantly knocking my Petal Blossom off the shelf I had her on previously because of the tinsel in her mane and tail.  After I got Butterscotch more recently, I gave my cat a test by putting Butterscotch on the same lower shelf Petal Blossom had been on. Tinsel is a cat magnet because when I woke up the next day, Butterscotch was no longer on that shelf. Rainbow Flash and the Sweet Celebrations family who do not have tinsel in their manes and tails are on the same shelf I tried to put Petal Blossom and Butterscotch on and they've been left alone.

Mishaps....hmmmm probably my on going mystery of missing Baby Bow Tie...she has now been posted awol for about 6 months and she is no where I look. I have given up searching...I figure when she is lonely and no longer adventuresome  she will simply head home.

Mishaps... The original substitute wings I made for my Rosedust had spots tinted with Sharpie. Unfortunately, the red Sharpie had not properly soaked into the clear plastic, so while the wings were loose in Rosedust's bag they gave her Sharpie stains on either side.

Surprises? Well, I found Forget-Me-Not at a yard sale for $1, the base figure for my "Megan as an adult" custom for 10 cents at another sale, Molly for $2 at a collectibles store and some other ponies (Ribbon, Fizzy, Sundance in the panties and blouse-thing from Pony Luv) for $5 apiece at the same store. Also surprised to find Princess Tiffany at another dealer's shelf in said store for $10 and still another shelf full of ponies where I found a good deal on Steamer.

Surprises...well I moved house on Monday (yays!) and my ponies took up half the removal lorry...
