Pink Dreams for MyHatBarks - Newbie Swap (Pic HEAVY)

My partner in the Newbie Swap was MyHatBarks. Our theme was G1 to G3 or 4. Really, I think we settled on just turning any hasbro pony from one generation into a newer one.. One of the favorite ponies on Myhatbarks' list was Pink Dreams. Since she is also my favorite, I ran with the idea.

Here is Pink Dreams given a more modern, G3 look, with some snazzy accessories.

I left her with her original Hasbro eyes since they still looked great and they complimented the design well. Wings are Fantasy Film. Her hair took 3.5 hanks to do. MAN! These are my first super long ringlets left as they are. Normally I loosen them up.

The hair was patience. ^_^ I washed it first off and conditioned it. Then just carefully wound it around straws, starting at the top. every so often i would brush it out while in the process of wrapping it, so it kept laying smooth on the straw. Secured it with MANY bobby pins. Then I dunked her into a pot of boiling water.

I need to use a deeper pot next time I do hair this long. I think the curls look a little loose up at the top because I could not soak the top very well.

Someone had told me that they style their hair in twists AFTER curing it.. and I was going to try that with this, but it started to unravel the curl, so I stopped and simply pinned it with the flower. I have no idea how anyone can manage to do twists AFTER curls. I would love some pointers if anyone has any.
