Pretty Pretty Bettas

Bettas are great. We've had a number over the years, but no fish right now.

Your Ghostie reminds me of my Fwish. I had him about 3-3.5 years I think, my longest living.
Girls are awesome too - I picked up one for a change from the boys, and she had such a big personality, it was awesome. Actually both of my girls did (one would rustle in her stones after I turned out the light, the other jumped out of her tank once).

I also love Bettas!   I only have one, because I don't think I could keep up with cleaning multiple tanks.

His fins have grown a good bit since this picture, but he looks the same, just longer fins.

My last one i had for a year and a half in a five gallon tank named cloud he was a crown tail and very very mellow for a betta. I even had some cory cats in with him too that he never minded. The tank is put away for now because i do not have the room right now.

Whispers, Speckles is absolutely gorgeous! Was he sick when you got him or was he just young? I didn't know they could lose and gain color like that.

Thank you! Photos don't do him justice! I've learned that marbled bettas don't stay the same color, due to the gene that causes the marbling.

It's really amazing to see a fish turn colors like that!  I'm guessing Speckles will continue filling out with color.  At first it was disappointing because I have always wanted a marbled halfmoon betta but I love him just the way he is!

Wow! That's fascinating. What a transformation. The article is right, I would think he was sick (and even said that about yours!)

That's a great site, I spent some time there. There's so much more information about them that I didn't know when I had Oscar. Now I really want to rekindle my love for these guys
