Winger display placement
« on: July 24, 2012, 10:47:28 AM »
Most of you know my ponies live in storage boxes under the beds, but I bought that cute little shelf that I intend to display a few wingers on. After all since they are my pride and joys now it seems only right a few get to roam free. I have a spot I really want to display them near, but at certain times of the day some sun comes through the window that would hit the edge of the display. We have one of those little blinds by our window, but what is something I could do to avoid the sun from hitting my little display ponies? Honestly there aren't many places in the house to put it where the sun will not shine. We have a lot of windows, so any tricks to avoid toasty ponies but still use the display placing I want?

Hmmm....there is no harm with your ponies enjoying a little sunshine! As long as you are aware that even some of the weakest sun can fade symbols, hair and of course hair - so if you wish them to get some sun you need to be prepared for potential sun damage!

Personally I try to ensure that my ponies never enjoy [poor little souls] direct sunlight - it is simply potentially too damaging. If I was you I would use the blind when the sun is at its zenith as well as a few hours before and after that.

Aww thanks Cat. I was afraid no one was going to respond thanks! :P

Hmm, I was afraid of that. Should I tack up some material or something to cover that window? We usually keep the blind closed, but sun always filters right through.

Personally I always have the curtains closed, the light still slips bye but I cant live in total darkness ^^  I'm going to get thicker curtain to keep more light out (I have a window right across the room from my display cabin) :)

Is it a little sun or a lot of sun? How intense is the sun and how long does it tend to shine for? :P Lots of questions!

My main suggestion would be if you have a Flurry or a Glow in there dont let them near any sunshine as that hair fades amazingly fast! And for the rest if you think the sun is enough, intense enough and long enough you may want to set something up that shades the ponies for the time sunlight will get in.
