Glue Question
« on: June 17, 2012, 04:15:13 PM »
What type of glue do you use to glue a ponies head back on? Several years ago I had taken a white G3's head off, rerooted her, then glued her head back on with super glue. The hair turned out horrible so I stashed her away for a couple of years, but I recently found her and her neck is all yellowed! Did the super glue do that? What type of glue do you normally use?

Iv never had to glue a head back on yet but I do have a bait that I will have to glue back on, I would have used super glue, it's the first thing that comes to my mind.
I think it would only go yellow if no air was circulating around it so if it had been kept away for a while mabie that's the cause?

I have always used super glue if I needed to glue a head on.. No yellowing.. But then, my glue never comes out onto the neck. I use the gel stuff.

Some ponies I get, the hasbro glue is wiped onto the neck and it gets yellow. It may just be inevitable.

i would love to be able to use hot glue to keep hair in but it would melt that wouldn't it?

No. I use hot glue to keep my tails in and it doesn't melt anything. Mine has a high heat setting and a low heat setting and I use the high heat with no problems.
