That is, random act of doll kindness! Thought it wasn't totally random. xD
I was gonna wait to post this until my birthday, when I'll likely get more doll stuff, but now I'm waiting on 5 and I don't want my birthday brag to be too huge, hahaha.


Earlier this month I got my first Tangkou, and wasn't very happy with her. I emailed the owner of the site I bought her from, and offered some suggestions to help keep customers from being as shocked and unhappy when their doll arrived as I was. After we talked some she offered to send me a set of pink accessories (all the dolls are shown with pink, but mine came with beige) and said she was going to include an extra.

Didn't think much of it, and then the other day it arrived.

Not only did I get the gorgeous pink accessories.

But I got an almost complete second outfit, with a wig (missing knee-high socks)! Its France's outfit and wig, my second favorite Tangkou. I was thrilled!

The boots look adorable, but I had to snap off her feet to get them on. They also slipped off a few times, but I'm sure they'd be a lot better with the socks.

The hoodie was. . .a nightmare. It has no velco snaps, etc. and has to slip on (same with Aussie's stock, so I guess its a Tangkou thing :/). I actually had to pop out her lower arms to get it on. Getting it off was another nightmare, thanks to her boobs. Its super adorable though! And if it was a permanent outfit it wouldn't such a hassle. This (nude doll warning, lol) is how she looked when I took everything back off.

OMG This is the first time i am seeing this doll... What the heck!!???!!?
I am obsessed with dolls... AND this one is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING... why o why have you done this to me... hahaha

I am hoping that they are expensive so i can write them off as not being able to get... haha

Tangkous are actually cheaper than Pullips. xD
They're $54, except for one that's $69. And as long as you know what to expect (the website still needs some updating to be totally clear) they're wonderful dolls.

Marjorie is the only Tangkou I have, but I've got more photos of her here (pw: sundance).

Haha, they're definitely my favorite face sculpt out of similar dolls. Like they combined the best of Blythe and Pullip and made them crazy affordable. 8D

And bwahahaha! I caught them a new fan. xD

But a few things you should know:
Their wigs are very heavily/messily glued on, and sometimes a bit of glue is in their wigs.
Their eyelids can vary in style.
The accessory color is random.
They have underwear printed onto their bodies.
You have to "lock" their eye mech before you change the color, no big deal once you're used to it.

And I think that's all that caught me by surprise.

hehehehe. The wig part is fine since i play on replacing them anyway.

Are their heads/eye mechs easy to get out or anything? I want them to customize.

Thank you for getting me caught up in this... they are beautiful. I am not a fan of Pullips, but i love their head sculpts and i absolutely adore blythe but cannot afford them...

Are they all the same face sculpt? Just with different wigs and whatnot?

I haven't touched Marjorie's insides, but there are some photos here.

I've fallen out of love with Pullips and only have a Blythe because she was a present, so I'm glad I found Tangkous. Once I got over the initial shock/disappointment, I was in love.

They all look to be the same face sculpt with the same make-up. So just different wigs/outfits.
But there are photos on Flickr that seem to be newer Tangkous, but they're not available on the site I used (tangkoudoll.com). You could e-mail the site owner and ask about it though, she's very nice.
