Also, if there is a picnic, it is customary to bring some food and/or drink to share

A picnic ay? This sounds fun!
Though it might have to be an indoor picnic if the weather doesn't improve by then from the conditions we've got now. :P

Oh does sound amazing - I will be in Kent at Canterbury for the fall semester, so really hope to be able to attend a UK meet while there:)

How does it work with the Convention if you wish to bring ponies to trade/sale? You must have a stall?
And how many collectors usually attend this?
And, are there many collectors near Kent at Canterbury?:)

Excited regards:)

Actually I don't know of any collectors in Kent but we have several down south.

If you have a lot of ponies to sell then I would get a stall.
The general rule of thumb is that you can bring one bag worth of trade ponies (like a carrier bag - not a suitcase lol)
I'd say there are generally a couple hundred collectors at the Con

Mee! I'm at Kent uni in Canterbury so I'm there most of the time and I'll definitely be there in the fall semester. Are you coming to study at the uni for a term Nellike? Thinking about it, I could probably organise something at the uni and I know of a few pony collectors who would definitely want to meet up. It wouldn't be too hard to hire/find a room at the uni to use.

As for the Ponycon, you don't have to bring any ponies or have a stall if you don't want to. Many people just come to chat to other collectors and of course to buy new additions to their collection :)

Oh! How cool.:) What are you studying Mercynova - and how far in your studies?
Yes, I am going to Kent for the fall term, to study law on a postgraduate exchange.

Is there a spacial trade table for people who've only brought a few ponies or do you arrange trades before you arrive?

That's exciting :D Hope you like Canterbury! Most of the exchange students seem to have a good time! I'm studying history, I'm in my second of three years at the moment. It's going far too quickly for my liking though!

As far as I'm aware there's nothing like that but I have to say that's a REALLY good idea :D It would be great for those of us that always have a few doubles but nowhere near enough to have a stall.
