Createx Wicked Colors: Would they be good for ponies?
« on: April 27, 2012, 10:58:43 PM »
I saw these while I was at Hobby Lobby today picking up the basic Opaque Color set and notice some of the colors in the Wicked Colors that I could use for ponies. However, I'm not sure if they are -safe- for them or if they will full dry either. I know on the Createx site it states that the Wicked Colors are a multi-surface airbrush paint that can be used on surfaces from fabrics to automotive.

I thought I saw one other set there a month back too, maybe the Auto Air Colors.. which by the looks of it, those are for car applications only and maybe model cars too.. even though I'm curious to see the Sparklescent Colors on ponies now XD

"Wicked Colors perform unlike any other Createx product. Unlike Createx Airbrush Colors which are water-based, Wicked Colors are waterborne meaning the colors contain solvent for exceptional performance."

That's a toughie.  I might have to pick up a test bottle, the colors are stunning.  If it's enamel based though (like nail polish) the results would be disastrous.

I have used them and as long as you prime the pony first they seem to be okay - I use it more on sculpted parts than anything though. I use a clear plastic primer from Valspar - that has really let me use some neato paints that probably normally wouldn't work on pony plastic :) But truth be told - haven't tried it on an unprimed pony...hmmm.

Interesting, though I'd hate to sacrifice a pony for the sake of testing x: Hmmm but it's something to look into it seems
