Any DoA memebers on here? I'm looking in to getting my first BJD, and I hear DoA is the place to be!


What is the community like over there, and would anyone care to invite me?

I've been a member of DoA since it was just Yahoo group haha. When I was an active member, it was a really great resource and community, I bought and sold many dolls there. But recently I've been hearing its not as nice/open as it used to be. Do you have to be invited to join now?

I've been haunting it since it was on Yahoo!, too. 

DoA has always had it's up and downs. I'm pretty much a ghost on there and only really log on to buy or get info. Some like to pretend that elitism and bullying doesn't happen, but just be aware that it does happen. And stay the heck away from the Debate section. No good comes from that place other than reading the crazy. If you do even skim a few posts of each thread... I can guarantee you'll be making the twitchy  face by the end of it.

Phew... The best advice I can give to keep happy with the hobby is to go with what you like and not to give in to peer pressure of "needing the most expensive/x-brand things evvaaar!" in order to be an "acceptable" BJD owner.

Hmm, you know, I've been thinking about giving in and joining, mostly because I have a morbid curiosity, but also because it might be an okay resource.

Obviously, I cannot really share my dolls there, since I have a Dollzone and a Resinsoul. I have a feeling I won't be all that well received. Course, not sure what the general opinion of Dollzone is these days.

Anywho... *raises hand*
I don't want to ride someone elses thread here, but I could use an invite aswell, if anyone would be willing to give one.

Dollzone and ResinSoul are fine. They don't have the negativity they had before, especially Dollzone. (ResinSoul's only "fault" is being "a cheap starter doll") I have both brands, myself. Both companies 1/4's are quite popular and are always on the first page in the mini's section. Not sure about the SD-sizes tho. I mainly only browse mini's.

That's nice, at least. Whenever I'm searching anything DZ through google, and it pops up with a DoA thread, the thread is usually saying hoooorrible things about the quality...

But all the threads that show up are really old, and probably right about the quality DZ had at the time. xD
