I had a pony with smooze and I used boiling water with oxyclean and I didn't get any bumps from the procedure so I agree with others that is not likely its the oxy. Perhaps the heat I used helped smooth down the damage to the pastic from the smooze and I just never knew it.

I would just like to say I think smooze is mostly just ingrained dirt and rarely mold. We have a member who used to look at pony problems under a microscope and I don't think she ever found mold.

Yep, this! And the comparison to a blackhead is very apt, actually. It's the same problem - dirt gets into the pore of the plastic and stretches it out, which then allows more dirt to get in, and then there's a very noticeable black spot. Heating the plastic helps loosen the pores so the dirt particles can get out. Once they're out, the plastic pore is able to shrink again, not necessarily back to normal size, but not as big as it was when the dirt was trapped either. The more I've been working with surface marks, the more I realize than pony plastic is a lot like human skin in structure!

Well, that's good to hear, about smooze being dirt, that's what I thought it was initially ingrained in the pony, but after reading so much about pin dot mold I was getting concerned.

Oh, I'd try boiling some water and pouring it over the pony to help get the plastic heated up so it can move to wear it wants to again.  I've fixed many pony standing problems with this type of method now (filled them with boiling water for awhile) and all my smooze problems and haven't had bumpies yet.  Boiling water does wonders, and you don't need to put a pony in a pot that is currently boiling to get some of the results!
