Rarity - Realistic & With Old Base Ponies and Counterparts

So, ever since I did this piece of Bangles as a trade for a pony I wanted to draw some more ponies in a realistic style.

I'm wanting to do the FIM main cast and some of my older favorites.  I started off by randomly drawing Rarity out of a hat so here she is, the background is scrapbook paper.

While I was at it I wanted to draw new and old ponies and try and brush up on drawing different styles.  So here is FIM Rarity with her two bases and G3 counterpart.  Behind FIM Rarity on the left is G1 Sparkler in the 80s back card style.  On the right in front is G1 Glory in the original movie style and behind her is G3 Rarity in the series style.

I struggled a lot with my markers on this piece but I'm pleased with the outcome overall.

Great work! for the realistic style what medium/brand did you use?

leonaenae, for Bangles it was straight up Prismacolors on black card stock.  For Rarity she was drawn on super white Strathmore Bristol and colored with Prismacolor colored pencils also.  But she also has a wash of acrylic paint over her mane and tail, since the shade wasn't what I wanted - and my scanner incidentally ruined.  Her horn was done with these pearl rainbow pen things I have, with acrylic highlights.

Oh man Prisma's whenever I use them I smear . And nice work combining those mediums there! There is this pen thing that looks like those old school whiteouts, but it has acrylic paint in them, might end up useful to you, if you already havent discovered them heh
