Pony Spots
« on: February 19, 2012, 05:58:23 PM »
I have Glory and her baby, both are pure white ponies.  My problem is Glory seems to be getting these black spots on her, I've had her for years.  Is there anything I can do to clean these up?

Do they look like mold? Or more like pen?
If they're pindot mold you can give them a good oxy clean boil  (or a few, just reheat the water a bit) and then scrub with some antibacterial dish soap.
If it's pen (which seems unlikely since they're now just appearing) you could sunfade them.
Pictures would be very helpful, though.

I'll post some as soon as I can I'm currently without a camera, but it could be mold. She was in a basement for awhile.

I'd be interested to the results and the pictures because my Baby Quackers has the same problem. It could be mold or pen though if it's appearing now I'm guessing it's more than likely mold.

If it's mold, the method I mentioned should definitely remove it super easily. I boiled my Minty, waited until the water cooled then reheated the water and repeated the process again. Put a little antibacterial dish soap on the spot, scrubbed, turned on the water to hot and it wiped away like it was just normal dirt. :D
