My First Fox Doll
« on: July 26, 2013, 02:18:54 PM »
EDIT: He is for sale in my etsy shop : ) https://www.etsy.com/listing/157892421/crescent-the-pose-able-fantasy-fox

Okay, I decided to stop stalling and try my hand at making a pose-able sculpted plush fox doll. He is made of faux fur and supported mostly by a wire frame. Since he is my very first doll, I'm wondering if there are any message boards I could post him on to advertise him? I really want to make more fox dolls, but the materials are expensive, so I need to actually sell these dolls in order to make more of them x_x; So anyway, is my work good enough to sell? I would simply put him on ebay, but I have no idea what to start the price at because I have never sold one of these before...Any suggestions, comments?

He's super cute !!!

You might want to put him on Etsy?  That way you can list him for the price you want (once you discover what that is) and won't be at the mercy or whim of ebay.

As for pricing- that's difficult!  But he is extremely cute- I love his poseability.  Maybe someone could give you some suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestions guys : ) I'm torn between putting him on ebay or seeing how he sells on etsy. I'm not looking to make a profit right now, just get my supply money back so I can make more of these, LOL.

I'd go with Etsy if you already have a shop set up.

If you're mostly looking to make your money back, maybe charge the cost of supplies + a bit extra?

He is gorgeous! I'd go with etsy myself. And as for pricing, I agree with costs plus a bit of extra.
