LIV & BJD question
« on: January 29, 2012, 01:07:06 PM »
Has anyone ever taken a Liv doll and switched her eyes out for some BJD eyes, hair, or anything like that?  If you have or know anything about it please share!

BJD wigs would probably work, though i don't have a Liv so I can't be sure what size. As for eyes, you'd have to open up the Liv dolls head in some way, and you'd need really tiny eyes. Switching eyes may be more trouble than it's worth.

I read on flickr they take 10mm eyes and wear 5/6 wigs. I also found a tutorial for moving/switching the eyes too.

You could cut the Liv's head pen , some people do that to the Obitsu heads and then cut their eyes open so they can wear round eyes.

I think you can change the eyes, not sure how would it look inside the doll's head (how the eyes are attached and stuff) But I don't think it would be that difficult to remove them. Since the doll is wearing a wig it would cover the oppening mark.
Now I dont know if you'd glue the top of the head back or what else, you probably coud search for obitsu's eye oppening tutorial to see the options.
You can find tiny eyes on ebay, such as 8mm or 6mm.

I don't think you need to open the head... There's an eye pocket, and it isn't open in the back... If you heat up the head, you can pop them right out the front of the head, and, possibly, pop in other eyes.

That could work but you run the risk of ruining the paint unless you are planning to repaint the face too.

I replaced the eyes on a moxie teenz girl once. Same concept really... All i did was cut a hole in the crown of her head like the tutorial suggests. you cannot notice once you put the wig on.
And the liv dolls take 4in wigs i believe.
