Hi, everypony!  Greetings from (only recently unfrozen) Minnesota, USA.  Figured it's time to stop lurking here at the Arena and join the club.

My name is Dave, I'm 33 years old, a US Army Staff Sergeant, and I've been an MLP cartoon fan since G1.  I've acquired a pony or two over the years (had to pick up G3 Shenanigans when I saw her--Still my favorite pony name), but I tend more toward enjoying the animated stories than collecting the toys.  You can also catch me wearing MLP t-shirts fairly often--To the chagrin of some of my comrades, for sure.

G4/FIM definitely rekindled my old love of animated equine adventures and I absolutely adore the world-building that the DHX crew has managed.  It's fascinating how advances in media and technology make being a fan such a different (for better or worse, but usually better) experience these days.  Being able to connect with fellow fans across the globe on active forums like this is a far cry from the days of physically collecting things like Flag Points from G.I. Joe figures and mailing them off for premiums/promos from Hasbro or fanzines.  A brave new world, but it's been a fun ride thus far.
