She's not a must-have for me, but I do like her colour scheme. I love the hot pink and white, like Savannah Sage.

What do you think about ponies who are less... Technicolor? I know a lot of people are open to it, but let's get down to the nitty-gritty. Why? Or why not? Rainbow-coloured ponies are always my favourite regardless, but I don't see why Hasbro is adamant about doing anything outside of pink. There's a lot of different things you can do with these colours! I'd love to see a grey pony with rainbow hair, a black and gold pony, or an obligatory neapolitan pony! Even things like a pure white pony are rare, but still very nice.  On the other hand, it could get boring fast if the designers aren't creative. I never found Doctor Hooves or Octavia to be particularly interesting.  At least Octavia has purple eyes going for her. At that point my ideal "natural pony" would be half and half, a natural coat with colourful hair. If a pony is purely natural, it would have to have a nice theme/symbol to tie it all together.

I've seen someone do it before, but I don't remember who it was or if it was on here or on Tumblr. x( It was Rarity, in I thnk the reboot was in the "Who? Me?" pose (that's the best way I can describe it haha, I'd consider it do be the "Rarity" pose though), and an open mouth. I think it looked like it fit alright, nothing too out of place, but I can't remember if they said any further work had to be done...

Stalking this thread! But an easy way to figure out an alt rehair color scheme is to work with what's already on the pony. Purple, yellow, maybe with some white if you have any on hand would be really neat to see, it would match her symbol! Maybe a silver or gold would be cool too? I haven't seen any Night Glider rehairs yet, unfortunately!
I agree! Yellow/white/purple would look nice I think, and I'd probably like her better than all-white Night Glider, I love ponies with colourful hair!  Maybe you could sneak some blue into there, like slightly darker than her body... Oh, or maybe just blue and purple?

I knew it was coming out today and completely forgot about it! I saw the preview for it, I'm a little excited. The other Christmas specials were a bit underwhelming for me but when I saw The New Characters I knew I HAD to see it!! I'll have to watch it, tomorrow maybe. No spoilers, how did this hold up compared to the other two Hearth's Warming episodes? The first one was alright but anything Christmas Carol in my opinion is overdone and makes me go "you couldn't think of anything else?". To be fair "we gotta save Christmas!" stories are overdone too, but I'm a sucker for those During the uhhh Slice of Life or whatever episode with Muffins, I remember her sounding more like Wysteria iirc imo? Wysteria is voiced by Tabitha too isn't she? And Coco Pommel sounds just like G3 Rarity. It's a small thing but I like hearing familiar voices. (I didn't notice Zipzee and Pinkie Pie having the same voice until rewatching Princess Promenade a couple years back) Post Merge: October 27, 2018, 10:47:58 PMNOW I can give my thoughts! Spoiler It was cute! And definitely my favourite of the three specials. I like how they brought back old characters too, it didn't feel too fanservicey. Rarity is my favourite of the Mane 6 and I love how her part turned out. Ironic, Flim and Flam's part, though, what were the writers trying to tell Hasbro...? The preview for the episode hyped up the reindeer a lot for what little screentime they had. I loved Christmastime as a kid, still do, loved reindeer, still do, so I was looking forward to their inclusion. But I loved them still! The pun on the names are super cute.

I'm finding myself loving charms I see when going into jewelry stores, but the problem is I hate jewelry. I hate how necklaces hang and get tangled in everything, I hate the weight of bracelets, and I have a legitimate phobia of rings (as soon as I slide one on I panic, I'm scared it'll get stuck!). Maybe one day I'll buy some, and put them on a keychain or something... I just love them so much!! They're so cute...

I like a lot of songs but since you put me on the spot... G1: Dancing on Air, Pony Magic (it's fun!) ... Oh! and just about everything from Magic Coins since it's my favourite episode. G3: Honestly? There's no G3 song I don't like, but Shine On is definitely my favourite G4: Winter Wrap Up is nostalgic, but You'll Play Your Part is my favourite, maybe I really love the music from the G2 game, too
The song from Sweet Stuff and the Treasure Hunt (can someone please tell me the title it's been so long that I've watch G1)

man, that DVD set reeeally calls attention to the fact that both MLP movies have the *exact same name* I wish they hadn't done that.
Not just the name. They share numerous plot points too. Which will also be highlighted when people can watch them back to back.
I never really liked the G1 movie (it's one of the weakest animated things for me from G1) and I haven't seen the G4 one, but if that's the case it's a big shame that G4 didn't do its own thing more. I sometimes wonder when they do that which fanbase they are really reaching for - the bronies and fans of new stuff or the older fans on a nostalgia kick...
There are some similarities but it's not the exact same thing... Spoiler In MLPtM G1, the witches make the smooze and the ponies need to find the flutter ponies to fight back, and they meet some friends (the Grundles). They find the flutter ponies but they initially don't want to help. They eventually come around to help and they all live happily ever after, the end.
In MLPtM G4, the Storm King captures the princesses to use their magic to rule Equestria, and the Mane 6 have to find the hippogriffs to fight back, and they meet some friends (Capper, the pirates...). They find out the hippogriffs are actually seaponies, and they initially don't want to help. They eventually come around to help and they all live happily ever after the, end.
That's what they have in common, but there's still enough that's new to not make it seem like the exact same thing. Like while the witches stay in one place (iirc?), the Mane 6 are always being hunted down by the bad guys. Twilight tries to steal the MacGuffin. There's a redeemed villain.
A nitpick, you can skip this if you want, but it was pretty much the Twilight, RBD and Pinkie Movie. The other Mane... half don't get much screentime aside from standing in the background while Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash do something. Rarity helps Capper. Applejack had a joke in the beginning of the movie. Fluttershy says "yay" for a "haha get it, bronies!!!! Remember those classic memes!" reference. That's petty much all they do in the entire movie that I can remember.
It seems like they're trying to push more toy sales with the G4 movie too. There are a LOT of characters that don't have much involvement with the movie and are pretty much introduced to sell toys. The pirates were there for ONE musical number, now we have a pirate ship and anthro parrots and pirate ponies to buy. Queen Novo probably only has like three or four lines in the entire movie and she gets a $100 castle. The Sia cameo shows up twice, very briefly, in the movie, and sings the credits song. She gets a couple brushables, a singing toy, plushes. Storm King gets some figures. Tempest gets some brushables, a statue, some blind bags... a jet... (that doesn't appear in the movie, mind you)? But she's okay imo since she's the main antagonist. But back to irrelevant characters, they sold a toy of a character that wasn't even in the movie under the "My Little Pony: The Movie" name (I don't remember his name, though. Guardians of Harmony, hippogriff). Capper has a little more involvement at least.
Really the only thing introduced in the G1 movie that seems to be for selling toys (not including the main cast) were Paradise Estate and the flutter ponies, but at least those had relevance to the plot... well. The flutter ponies were important at least. Grundles and the witches were introduced and don't get toys... Danny never got a toy... I'm still waiting on Mr. Moochick, Hasbro!
I don't think this is in particular nostalgia pandering. They do bring back villains but I don't think anyone really cares? Old fans end up disappointed and I'm not sure how bronies feel, probably indifferent. Does anybody even remember that they brought back breezies? Things that make me go "heh, nice" are small references like G1 ponies being background characters in the comics or things like the "Gusty the Great" storybook. Even then compare this to something like what Gamefreak is doing with shoehorning in Kanto Pokemon into everything.  Spoiler They're supposedly bringing back Grogar next season... hopefully they'll know what to do with him...

$125 is a steal, I got mine near-complete for the same price.  It's not unusual to see bids on them start at $150 on ebay, at least it was back when I was still searching. I just needed to replace the window awnings and I'm still procrastinating on the second seapony statue. I don't fret over the utensils since logically only Megan could use them and, uh... those prices... I have never seen this set in person yet. I hope to someday see one in person. I have no idea how big it is?
Huge! I swear mine came in a refrigerator box. Slightly exaggerating. Mine sits comfortably on the floor in front of my bed and fits perfect. All estimates, it's about 1 1/2 feet tall with the roofs snapped on and is about three feet total folded up. Specifically each building is around 9 1/2 inches on both sides, I think. And the base plate/courtyard is a little over a foot.

I actually don't own any G4s currently. I'm not sure about her, her name and colours are lovely but she looks an awful lot like Rarity, maybe she's her long lost sister? 
It doesn't help that Hasbro liked to use the same almond eye shape on every unicorn they released.  Even characters who have round eyes like Trixie and Lyra. I think Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer were only unicorns pre-reboot with different eyes. They still decided to give Lyra Twilight's eyes in the reboot though. She's supposed to have Rainbow Dash eyes! They don't even have to make a new unique eye shape for her!! Just use RBD's!!
