I love fading pink hair when it's unfaded but most of the ponies that have it also look great in white hair.
My favorite out of those is Tornado.  I think white hair suits him better

Other than that a pony I've only ever seen once in that state :  An evenly regrinded TE Party Time.
She was the most neon orange pony I've ever laid eyes on and she sure screamed PARTY TIME!!!!!

I would:

 invest in the stockmarket.

try every treatment out there to get functioning again.

also have a vet come over instead of going there with my cats whenever needed xD

then get various teachers. I want to learn Japanese culture, manners and of course the language. I also would like to continue my medical studies.

make sure my parents had what they needed and pay off my closest friends loans so that he can have a less stressful life again.

spend a lot of time with my mom while I still can

probably hunt down my grail ponies.

be a secret santa (I love giving what people want/need).

try to find a decent partner or be strong enough to not have anyone.

No, unless they need to wear something at that specific time.
I have long haired cats and sometimes they need a shave (their fur grows uncontrollably) and if it would happen that they would be newly shaved and it would be very cold (say if our generators stopped working )they might get something to keep them warm.
Odds are that I would just spend my days under a blanket with them so that they wouldn't need clothes anyway xD

Pony Corral / Re: Would you buy a restored pony?
« on: November 15, 2019, 02:01:49 PM »
I wouldn't buy a restore if
a) it wasn't super well done (so that I could barely tell)
and
b) it wasn't cheaper than an original in poor condition.

I consider them partially customs and of much lower value.
Doesn't mean that the restorers work are bad in any way but collector wise I don't find them to be of the same value as a good condition pony.

That being said - I would still appreciate a placeholder but would prefer it in CB condition instead of restored =)

I have begun, but am starting with clothes so am faaaaaaaaaar away from collection which would be the last miscellaneous / sentimental thing to go through.

I think that what you do, with putting it away in a box for now is good. The Kondo-thing doesn't really allow for collections so I guess those are excluded from the de-cluttering business. At the same time, if you don't have room to display your collections and don't plan to move or give them more space maybe that speaks for itself regarding the pieces not on display :)

Pony Corral / Massive Price check of mainly UK/Scandinavian exclusives
« on: November 11, 2019, 01:08:59 PM »
Hey all!

I am hoping to sell these in the near future as some people have expressed interest in some of them.
I did ask for a price check in a Facebook group but only got help with maybe 2 ponies. Was hoping to get a decent PC in here in order to be able to sell soon.

Any help and estimates (even guesstimates) are welcome and appreciated.
Pony-specific link under first picture for those who want to view several pictures ( I encourage this yet didn't want to slow down this arena post too much  :P )

Thank you very much.  :lovey:

Pony Corral / Re: Pony Hairstyles and Haircuts

I can't add to this thread much because Taffeta already phrased it so well.

Out in "the wild" I'll still buy a pony with hair cuts if it's cheap but other than that it has lost too much value and is more or less custom bait.
Other than that - these are ~35 year old collectables (speaking of g1) and same as I wouldn't scrape off a pattern I disliked from a Ming vase, or cut "more modern holes" into authentic vintage clothes - I won't devalue a pony by cutting it's hair. I will do everything in my power to save it.

I received a MB Lightning with something that had tangled his hair and tail into a sticky oily mess. His owner had given up and said if I didn't take him (for free + postage) she'd just toss him in the garbage.
It took me three days of hard work but I got it out. He's now in my herd.

I am still a believer that what you own is yours and you are technically free to do whatever you please with it.
And I too prefer ponies off the cards (except for childhood ponies - those I want MIP) but I wouldn't decard a pony unless the card was harming the pony [e.g. mold or something else that contaminates the pony].

Newer generations such as g3 and onwards I have very little to none attachment to and I couldn't care less if people cut their hair or limbs off for various projects.
That might change in 15 years :P

Gorgeous. (some pictures aren't showing)

How much would you be asking for Lemon treats?
Are you really selling all of yours and getting out of the hobby or just thinning the herd?
I would miss you very much if you left.

I can get them for you here in Sweden but they are expensive (190kr ~$20 each) and shipping is around $20 too.

There's always the nirvana ponies... :P

Really though, I don't know and I have no real advice to give.

Personally I doubt I will ever be "done".
I miss about 35 ponies (dream beauties + Molly included), I have every other pony/friend/meghan on the list.
But my goal is to find my childhood ponies MIP - so that gives me "time" since I won't be able to afford them for quite some time.
I've often thought to myself that once I have my collection complete (all the standard non-nirvana EU+US releases) I will enjoy them for a while. And then maybe just keep favorites and sell off in order to save up for the childhood ponies mip.

I know the "first world pony problems" all too well :P Mostly expensive ones left on my list now :/

Personally, however, you are very welcome to post pictures of your complete collection.. any time. I love seeing ponies and especially huge collections and complete sets xD
Haha!
