The Dollhouse / Re: I hate Lagoona.

Lol, finally, some form of MH *hate* XD I was wondering if it would ever pop up... But if you like her face and her *otherwise* You can super glue them in probably. As for the hair, rev that faucet up as hot as you can physically stand to put your skin under and brush it out. It'll straighten evenentually. Myself, its their gaingly little limbs and disproportionate..everythings that bother me. Their iips in particular ^^; I kinda like that cat girl though...shes sort of interesting...Meh. MH is underwhelming to me. Good luck in getting her to your liking though! :heart:

So, is there a G4 Eye tutorial somewhere? Honestly, I'm terrified of continuing work on Luna just because I don't want to screw up her eyes hardcore....I think that would be helpful for all involved in the thread XD Honestly, the style has changed since G3s, mostly in terms of the way they're colored I think...The gradient? I'd love a tutorial on those...

But yeah, the basic principles of the G3 tutorial is a good place to start. Start with a white base, thin outline fore the outlashes and color the inside. Black pupils first, colored inside next, and highlight. Me, I wanna know how to do these crazy layered gradient eyes with the pretty flecks I keep seeing people doing!

Pony Corral / Re: Common Ponies becoming Harder To Find?
« on: February 04, 2012, 02:36:02 PM »
With the advent of Friendhip is Magic, people are discovering the "origins" if you will of My Little pony. So more people are starting up their G1 collections more than likely, starting with those good 'ol common ponies. Are we honestly surprised? I can't say I am...The discovery of one good thing leads to  another. I found Pullips thanks to the Dollhouse on the Arena, and I would have never found those without being a pony collector first :3 So yeah, I'm really not surprised ^^;

Yeah....I think they would need a liiiiiiiiiiiiiittle more time than ten days to release a valentine's day pony *before* Valentine's day. So my vote is leaning towards nooooooooooo.....Sorry.............

I honestly think the damn groundhog has it backwards. If you see your shadow, it means the SUN is out. Which wouldn't you THINK would mean spring is coming? NOT  6 more weeks of winter? Stupid illogical rodent.

Corpsey Puff and Summer-blade:  Wigwam is a tall order - the feathers in the headress are
      a pain!

Actually, Wigwam's headdress would be very easy :D Just get some turkey feathers and some yellow fleece cut into a strip about six inches wide, lay the sharp quill end so that the tip of it hits the center of the strip. Make sure that all the feathers are curving the same way, fold the fabric over the quills and pin each one near the edge of the fabric strip just to hold it in place. If you want to give the edges a more finished look, fold and pin them first, then lay the feathers and pin them. After you do that, sew over the feathers with a sewing machine following the edge of the fabric. Bam. Headdress. (Of course, center the feathers on the fabric, leaving ties on either end so that you can tie it on Wigwam's head :3 )

If you want them yellow, you can buy them pre-dyed, or use Rit-dye to dye them. :3

I've always loved Galaxy. And the G4 unicorns eyes have always been a bone of contention to me because they've always looked conniving/evil/bihotchy to me..But I adore these customs. Everything *but* the eyes. The eyes terrify me in a whole new way, particularly in the outdoor photos because they look like they're getting ready to charge laser vision with which to incinerate my soul XD Great work though! (I think it's the angle of them? Too steep cut and slanty.)

Yeah. Have a doc look at it if it doesn't close completely within a couple days...owie. I've definitely done that...But in a different place (thankfully so it closed on its own) and bigger...

I use folk art all the time! The trick is, thin layers that are ***completely*** dried before applying the next. :) You're on the right path by adding numerous layers of paint (you can actually develop a realism style by doing this over a long period of time) but the trick is, allow patience to be a tool and let each individual layer dry completely before applying the next!
The issue I had with this method was that even when I watered the paint down like, to DEATH, the paint, folk art, would still clump, because parts would dry so fast that if you accidentally went over it again before it had completely dried, your brush would drag through and cause streaks. I just chucked my bottle XD I'm never touching the stuff again. I'mma just going to stick with the paint you don't have to trouble with watering dooooown and waiting to dryyyyyy and etc before you are able to continue working with it =\

You're welcome, I really hope it works out for you like it has for me @_@ Just make sure that before you try and seal *anything* that you let it dry good and long, at least for a day or so. Just to make sure that nothing schmears or runs or mixes or anything. :3 Good luck!

Ok, I had this problem too for the LONGEST time, and I was using folk art too. Except Folk art for me was doing one worse, and if I tried to remove the white, it would remove whatever color was UNDER it too. So yes. I went on a paint crusade. Thankfully, I seemed to get lucky on the first go. I haven't tried doing eyes yet, but I did do Luna's white moon symbols in two coats using Skull White paint from Games Workshop.

Go forth. Purchase the best white paint on the planet. 3 dollars. Tiny pot. Worth every penny in the irritation you will save yourself.
