Pony Corral / Re: How quickly can you turn around and sell?
« on: November 03, 2015, 09:04:14 PM »
Yeah, I agree G3's can be tough to move. They really don't sell for very much either. $2-$3 for the common ones, and even the less common ones (Butterfly Island, Crystal Princess, Holiday, and store exclusives like TRU, Target, etc) usually only sell for $4-$6 each.

G4 Mane 6 characters are also slow sellers for the most part, but non-mane 6 characters sell quickly and for good prices.

It really depends on which ponies you get and how much you wind up paying for them all. If you can get them cheaply enough, you can lower your sale prices, which means more people will buy them. Maybe do a special sale like 3 for $10 or Buy 2 get 1 free or something... people love stuff like that. :)

Here's hoping they're serious this time about shipping the ponies out... how awful to make people wait for so long! I have their Twilight Sparkle and I would LOVE to have a Fluttershy to match. But I'm waiting to order until I see that they're actually shipping them.

I'm also really hoping they'll release Applejack. (I wish, I wish, I wish... :D ) Poor AJ gets almost no love.

Price Check Archives / Re: PC on MO Spike
« on: November 03, 2015, 08:43:48 PM »
I sell pretty regularly on eBay and I get offers sometimes through messages on listings that I don't have a Best Offers option on. I usually don't respond to these, because if I wanted offers I would have had a Best Offer option on my listing. I will add Best Offers or lower prices if something hasn't sold after awhile, but for a new listing I admit I will always try to go for top dollar first. :D Maybe your seller feels the same way?

Considering there are no other current listings on eBay for the MO version of Spike, and that the last ones sold back in August when prices tend to be lower, $40 isn't a bad price for him. Prices tend to get higher at this time of year.

But if you see something that you feel is overpriced, don't worry... it'll come up for sale again if you're patient enough. I've learned that unless it's some ultra rare one-of-a-kind thing, there's always another one out there with your name on it. :)

Pony Corral / Re: Who is your favorite pony of all time?
« on: November 03, 2015, 08:14:26 PM »
My favorite pony is Starry Wings, from the set of Windy Wings during the G1 era. I have loved her ever since I was a kid, and she is one of the only childhood ponies I still have. She has everything I like when it comes to ponies: she's yellow, she has a bold color scheme, she has wings, and she has a celestial themed symbol.

Pony Corral / Re: What's been your best eBay pony score?
« on: November 02, 2015, 06:14:08 PM »
I have been keeping this under my hat for years but since you asked... :D A couple years back I  was browsing through eBay's auctions that were ending that day. I'm an old-school eBayer so I don't just look at the pictures-- when I started on eBay half the time there WERE no pictures! So I always read the titles as well.

Anyway, there was an auction that just showed a picture of Megan and Sundance, with a starting bid of $250, which made me go, "Yipes!" at first. But then the title said it was a lot of ponies. So I clicked onto the auction, expecting it to be a bunch of manky Blossoms and Cotton Candies like usual, but this lot was seriously AMAZING!

There were a good 30 or 40 ponies, all in pristine shape, with their accessories and backcards, and most of them still had the stickers. Most of them looked like they had just come out of the package, including several So Softs, and ponies with perfect original curl, etc.  But the really great part, was that also included in the lot was a Year 3 Adult Sea Pony Sand Dollar, with her shell and box. I squeed so hard when I saw her, because she was one of my long-lost childhood ponies, and she's so expensive I never thought I'd have her again. I didn't even bother adding her to my want list, because I thought no way would I ever get her.

In the end I was the only bidder, at $250. I'm guessing most people just looked at the first pic and the price and balked, because there is no way with that Sand Dollar hiding in there it wouldn't have had some more bidding action. I sold most of the other ponies to pay for the lot, so I pretty much got Sand Dollar for free!

She still has a place of pride in my collection. One day I hope I'll have a similar lucky score with her sticker. :)

Pony Corral / Re: Wicked Auction On Ebay just finished

I was watching those too... I would LOVE to have Sand Dollar's sticker one day. She was my only childhood adult Sea Pony, and I have her box and everything, but I'm missing the sticker. I saw her sticker once a few months back-- someone had the whole set of second year Sea Ponies stickers on eBay, all MIP, but they were $100+ each, which is too rich for my blood. And I even remember thinking to myself, "No way will anyone pay that much!" But to my surprise they were all snapped up super quick.

So yeah, the second set of Sea Pony stickers can be worth $$$$$. I guess I'll just have to be patient and wait to find a good deal on the Sand Dollar sticker.

I'm down for January. Doing some Disney shopping for my partner would help with the winter blues, that's for sure. :)

I wouldn't mess with them, especially if you're not sure what you're doing. She really doesn't look that bad to me.

Aww, cute! I hope she will look a bit better than the Firefly one though...

Nice job on fixing up Silly Sunshine! That must have been quite the project to do all that hair. She looks much happier now. :)

Pony Corral / Re: Uneven Tails?
« on: October 18, 2015, 03:57:00 PM »
This is a fairly common flaw... a lot of times the tails just weren't pulled through evenly at the factory. If it's about half of the tail that's longer, that's usually the culprit.

Bumping with more updates! Added some more ponies tonight, some nice ones like Taffeta, UK NSS Magic Star, Star Gleamer, Bubbles, Seashell, etc.

I would possibly be interested in this swap! I love me some Disney, and it would be fun to get a Disney themed box. :) I personally wouldn't mind it happening around the same time as the Holiday Swap, but I'm open to whatever others decide.
