I'm pretty sure that IS a Sasha. Felicia is REALLY dark in comparison.

Was there a Sasha with copper highlights in her hair? (That is what still has me not quite convinced yet that this is not Felicia.  Plus her face is a bit darker than what the picture shows.)  Just tried to look through several ended eBay Sasha listings to compare, and am coming up empty handed.

The Dollhouse / Re: The Thread to Post any Doll BUT Monster High! :D
« on: August 17, 2012, 01:55:58 AM »
I don't know about y'all but I'm just about worn out on all the millions of Monster High threads here on the Dollhouse. SURELY we all own SOMETHING OTHER than MH?

Why yes.  You are correct.  And please don't call me Shirley.  :p

Anyway, I am pleased to introduce Shaasta, a Moors Elf of the House of Willowpaw.  She is the result of transplanting the head of a Disney Fairies 9 inch doll onto the body of a 9 inch Marvel Famous Covers Psylocke, thus creating a classic (like 1st and 2nd Edition AD&D) Elf in 1:6 scale, meaning full size she would be a proper 4.5 feet tall.

Now warning here.  She has not found clothing that suits her tastes yet, so she is currently hanging out on my desk skyclad.  Then again, being a fey creature, that is the norm for her type anyway for the most part.

Marvelous and thanks so much.  All that leaves now unidentified is the 4th one in the first lineup (between Flashback Fever Fianna and Funk Out Jade).

Actually, she was really enjoying it, soaking up massive amounts of Z Waves, while she "recovers" from getting her quarterly flea medicine (oh the horror of it all.)

Thanks for the help so far.  I am pretty sure you are correct about Jade and Fianna.  However, I am still convinced the second one is Felicia and not Sasha.  Acoording to the Wikipedia description for Felicia...

Brown eyes - Check
Dark brown hair... - Check
...with copper highlights - Check
Very dark skin tone - Check

Sasha is described with green eyes and her hair has no copper highlights.

And while we are at it, here is a couple more I picked up yesterday.  I am guessing they are both some incarnation of Jade.  Any ideas what specific release of Jade these are?

The Dollhouse / More Unidentified Bratz Dolls
« on: August 14, 2012, 09:54:40 PM »
Hey all!  Here's another batch of Bratz I need help identifying.  I'm fairly certain that the first 2 are a Cloe and a Felicia (always a chance I'm wrong of course), but I am stumped on the other 3.  I checked the List of Bratz Characters Wikipedia entry, and none of the descriptions quite match any of them, leading me to believe that the list is incomplete.

Any clues as to who these gals are?

Off Topic / City of Heroes - Ponies of Paragon Is Now Recruiting
« on: June 03, 2012, 05:24:26 PM »
The Ponies of Paragon are now recruiting.  Ponies of Paragon is a My Little Pony themed super hero group in the City of Heroes MMORPG.  We operate on the Liberty server.

Here are examples of some types of Ponies that can be made in City of Heroes:

Earth Pony - This is Star-Watcher, my main (or is it mane in this case) there.  Had to make him an Earth Pony because there is no viable way to make a male Unicorn there.  Females can use one of the assorted jeweled tiaras and say that is what her horn became on the interdimensional trip.

Female Earth Pony - This is Melee Dee, my Martial Arts/Willpower Scrapper

Female Summer Wing Pony - Crystal Barebow.  She is an Empathy/Archery Defender.

Female Flutter Pony - This is Star Blossom, my latest creation.  She is a Gravity/Psionic Dominator.

And finally, a Pegasus Pony.  This isn't any particular character, just an example of what a Pegasus Pony in City of Heroes would look like.

Additionally, I can assist in Pony design (getting the body scales right and whatnot for proper proportions, as in short with a healthy Ponyesque figure so to speak).  Thanks to .costume files, I can easily provide templates for various body styles.

I can also provide a set of Halloween Salvage to new Ponies.  They can hand this over to an npc in Croatoa to unlock another costume slot.

To join, either send me an in game /tell to Star-Watcher, Melee Dee, Crystal Barebow, or Star Blossom. And when I can catch you online, I will bring you into the group. If you are on a free account that can't use /tells, then PM me here.

Thanks.  I was just looking over the one on Dream Valley and it looked like the one shown there on the i.d. tool had all 4 hooves on the ground.  Was pretty hard to tell, actually.

Still, in the condition she is in (except for a couple stains that need the acne cream treatment, it looks like she should still do pretty decently.

Pony Corral / Raised Hoof Baby Glory - Rare Variant or Butt Common?
« on: May 11, 2012, 07:07:32 PM »
I posted this on Facebook, but figured I may as well post it here too...

Before I go putting this little cutie up on the 'bay, can anyone here tell me whether or not this was a common variant of Baby Glory?

Specifically note how her left front hoof is significantly raised so she is standing on only three hooves.

Did I just find a rare variant, or are these butt common?

Ok, I was at a loss for a minute but this has been in affect for awhile.  I can't remember exactly when because they change things so often.

But the amount of your FVF is based on the total cost you charge your buyer plus shipping. They don't just pick a rate.  Yes,  the percentage they charge changes between having a store and plain old listing it auction style/fixed priced but like I said they don't choose what shipping price to use.

Here is there page on FVF's to help explain it a little better:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html

The final value fees on the item price and on the shipping get charged separately.  The fee on the item price gets charged as soon as the auction ends.  The shipping final value fee gets charged after the item is paid, since we don't know which shipping method the buyer is going to choose.  However, the shipping final value fee only gets charged if the buyer pays using an invoice sent through eBay.

Additionally, for international payments, the fee is based on the cheapest domestic rate shown in your listing, otherwise, for heavy items, the fees would be way too overwhelming.

Here are some screenies to illustrate:

Note the most recent entry, the Ghostbusters Popper Gun.  It has 2 fee line items, one based on the price, and the other based on the amount of shipping the buyer paid, which is Priority Mail here in the U.S.  82 cents is 9% (rounded up) of $9.08.  That was correctly calculated.

Next, note the two entries below the Ghostbusters Gun, the Ben Franklin figure and the Cabbage Patch Kid.  Those are going to Brazil and Ireland respectively.  They do not have a line item for the shipping final value fee, because they have not yet been paid.  And since I sent a PayPal invoice for those, and the buyers will pay through that invoice, there will be no FvF on shipping.

Next, take note of the non working Furby.  That is on its way to South Korea.  The buyer paid $14.99 for First Class International, and I was charged $1.35 for the final value fee on shipping (9% of $14.99).  That was wrong, as it should have been 85 cents, which is 9% of $5.55 (that is what domestic postage to my local area would have been and what the fee should have been based off of.  For a better illustration of this, take a gander at this screenshot from last month's invoice.

Direct your attention to the How to Train Your Dragon figure. The buyer paid $39.95 for Priority International.  Had eBay decided to scam the fee based on that, it would have been $3.60 (9% of $39.95).  Instead, it shows a fee of 52 cents, which is 9% of the $5.80 it would have cost to send it to myself.

That is how the FvF on shipping for internationals has worked ever since eBay implemented this money grab scam, until the start of this month.  Hopefully, it is just an error on their part, and not an unannounced policy change.

eBay's checkout system is not mandatory.  It is perfectly acceptable to have them use a PayPal invoice instead.  Otherwise, the Item Sold email would not have your buyer's PayPal email address included.  Many of the huge sellers actually specifically say not to pay through eBay checkout and to wait for an invoice instead.

Lastly, you can accept other payment methods (including checks, money orders, and any other legal means).  You just can't say so in your listings.  If a buyer specifically asks if they can pay via postal money order for example, you have every right to say yes.  But again, that is only if the buyer asks.  Still, that is different issue than preferring to use a PayPal invoice over an eBay invoice.  PreyPal is still getting their piece of the action.

And even if requesting use of a PayPal invoice was a policy violation, that is nullified by the fact that eBay is fraudulently overcharging you any way due to this screw up.

104
If you use the (not really free) free shipping?  I don't know.  I am guessing it will still base it on the international rate if you sell internationally.  Surely you only do "free" shipping on domestics?

You may want to ask about that in the thread about this on Seller Central on the eBay forums:

http://forums.ebay.com/db2/topic/Seller-Central/Check-Your-Fees/5100069841

When did this start?

What is the "actual international shipping cost"? I mean how can ebay tell what the actual cost is? do they check with usps or do they have a set value for each country they just decided on their own?
Or did you mean you will lose out if you stated a certain shipping cost in the auction and shipping turns out to be less than that? (shouldn't it be the other way around..?)

(sorry if they are stupid questions..)

The earliest one I noticed was on 2-MAY.  And they base the fee on how much shipping was paid when the buyer pays through the invoice sent through eBay.

In my case, the item in question was a non working Furby that went to South Korea.  They buyer paid $14.99 for First Class International.  The final value fee on the shipping paid was $1.35.  Had things been working right, that fee would have been 55 cents, as the cost to ship to my local area would have been $6.

This is why having the buyers pay through an invoice sent from PayPal is a workaround for this problem.  They aren't using the eBay invoice, so no final value fee gets placed on the shipping.
