There's pic of the Walmart brushable set now! There weren't any yesterday when the listing went up.

Hitch unfortunately doesn't get any hair. :(

Zipp looks better with hair, instead of a paintbrush head. And hey Hasbro,  little girls won't be horrified if boy horses have long hair ok? Just ask the model horse industry. Cripes those tails are thin! What happened to the nice thick hair from before? Can we stick with that you cheapskates?

Lack of paint on the CMs too. >_< I hate that. G3 Ponyvilles were puny and their CMs had the same amount of detail as the full-sized ponies. So what's the deal with the boring CMs on G5s? The Styling Size ones are fine, but not these... Did the poseables have properly painted CMs? I can't remember.

There are only two MLP generations: G1, which went from 1983-1984, and G4 which went from 2010-2021. Only twelve ponies were ever produced. No one knows what happened in between 1984 and 2010, but whatever did was probably very cringe and very bad and was killed with fire.

Pony Corral / Re: Favorite original 8 G3 pony?
« on: June 18, 2021, 09:25:38 PM »
Easy answer: Sunny Daze!!! She was one of my first G3s when they first came out and probably the one to brainwash me into liking the orange/pink colourscheme! As a character I could identify with her too, tomboyish, loves to play outside all day every day! I really love Sweetberry too, SO underrated.

Best Glitter pony is mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaayyyyyyyyybe Kimono. I like Minty better as a character, but Kimono's prettier and I was SO infatuated with her as a kid, even though I wasn't into pink or purple. Something about her dark colours I guess. She was also the only one of my ponies to ever go missing. I wonder if someone stole her? I was so upset!

How could I forget Sparkleworks... man, the Glitter Celebration ponies are all really good, huh? Orange bias towards Sparkle, and hers is so bright and bold. When I bought her a few years back I forgot how nice of an orange she is. And I love her CM! Such a great summertime pony. I'm not going to bait mine, but I think she'd be a cute pony to rehair. Pinkie is alright. I like G3 Pinkie more than G4 Pinkie. I like the dark body/light hair combo, and the walking pose is underutilized. It's so small and cute!

Wysteria and Rainbow Dash.... hey...? :lookround: Wysteria was one of my first ponies too but I don't feel as strongly towards her (since I said before I wasn't into pink and purple as a kid... I've always been a warm-colours person!). Rainbow Dash I like but not as much as the others. She's probably third place when it comes to Rainbow Celebrations. I'd have to get her again. I like her Kimono pose release in the darker tealish colour, though.

So excited for the smoothie playset!! It's so cute!

I like Izzy herself but her playset is less exciting. Though I do like the furniture.

Sunny is my current fave due to Orange Bias. Pipp is second. Normally she'd just be "okay" but her headband and gold hooves elevate her to second place for me. Izzy is probably third because I like her colours. I like Zipp and Hitch, but not as much as the others. I don't really *dislike* any of them.

When it comes to drawing though, I seem to neglect Izzy the most. ^^; And Zipp is fun to draw because of her wings.

I want her in this pose! For whatever reason as a kid the Butterfly Island ponies were difficult to find in stores. I didn't have any Dream Designs aside from Cloud Climber, and the only scented ponies I had were Coconut Grove and Apple Spice! They all have nice colours, it would be a nice set to complete.

Shining has the ugliest effing eyebrows

How else are you supposed to know he's The Boy if he doesn't have huge eyebrows and no eyelashes (and also he's blue)? 🤨

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / "Features" in Playsets?
« on: June 03, 2021, 08:30:56 PM »
Looking at G4's playsets, they always had some sort of dumb feature like a slide, and the upcoming G5 castle supposedly has a zipline feature. I was thinking, do kids actually like this kind of thing?

G3 was my childhood generation, and luckily we didn't have any stupid slides, which is probably the worst feature you can put on a playset. Celebration Castle's weird "feature" was the elevator, which I only used like once or twice. It was clunky and not very fun to use. Just teleport to the second floor like the rest of us? And the Rainbow Wishes Amusement Park's ferris wheel wing things were weird as well. Never used the similar wing-spinny thing on the Butterfly Island set. Those wings were on flimsy little hooks, the wing accessories were better used by themselves.

One of the playset features I actually liked as a kid were the hamster tubes in the LPS houses. The magnet-related gimmicks I thought were decently done in both MLP and LPS, whether it was something to activate something or used for things like "dance floors".

G1 seems to not have very many features, which is good. Only thing I can think of is the waterfall. I guess the pool in Paradise Estate could count as a feature, but it's more of a bowl than anything. XD The Dream Castle has the pulley but it's not really a selling feature, just a small detail.

But did you guys ever like features like this, MLP or other brands? If you have kids, do they like stuff like this? What are some good, cool features you like? Features you think are dumb? (the correct answer to this question is "slides")

She needs a rehair. Alright I guess.

Pony Corral / Re: POTD 6/1/2021 June Blossom
« on: June 01, 2021, 07:43:38 PM »
She's okay. A bit dull? Pastel colours like this might work for May but not for June. You could rehair her, but her CM isn't anything special either. I guess adding white and pink WOULD help a little?

And what's worse, is that her name sounds too similar to Gem Blossom, another pony that not only is yellow, but is in the same exact pose.

I never owned any of the original 6 or Peachy as a child (I had the mail order Pretty Parlor version that came without her). So as an adult it was nice to be able to get them from the Basic Fun retro releases. That probably makes me one of the few people who were excited to get a Peachy.

Peachy was my very first G1 pony that was given to me by someone. She's decently special to me. :) Her Basic Fun release is so pretty! I like her darker colour.

Yeah, Blossom and Blue Belle are pretty samey and I always forget about them compared to Minty, Butterscotch, Cotton Candy, and Snuzzle.

But they're better than all of the birthflower ponies combined at least, if we want to talk about collector POSE ponies.

Sunny's is the cutest imo, which is great, because she's my favourite of the bunch so far.

I hope we get BABs of these guys, I'd like to see Pipp's design done right. And maybe some Hitch love, too.
