Price Check Archives / Re: PC on all version of Gusty?
« on: May 15, 2015, 04:57:00 PM »
There's a few types listed on Bluerose's G1 price guide.
Standard  - $10-12
SS  - $15-18
UK  - $11-12
Argentina - $80-85
Brazil - $150-160
Brazil CP - $300-310
Italy - $35-38
I am not 100% on the prices though, just a warning, I'm no expert.

Pony Brag Arena / First Craigslist lot!
« on: May 15, 2015, 04:52:46 PM »
I purchased my first Craigslist lot today, and I'm riding out the high.

That's the seller's photo, and it advertised 46 ponies for $50. I jumped on it immediately.

The box. (sorry for the bad quality, I've dropped my phone in water one time too many.)
In the box, I found:
G1
 - twin SS buttons, each with thick flocking. One, sadly, has a hole in her hoof
 - SS Lofty with the thickest flocking and thickest mascara
 - flutter Cloud Puff with no regrind and original curl!!
 - two Fireflys. One had a haircut, and the other had uncut curls.
 - Heart Throb with her original curls
 - BBE Baby Heart Throb. My first with no eye rust
 - Scoops, who smells faintly of ice cream
 - Princess ponies Sparkler and Tiffany, my two favorites
 - Twirler with curl and a working mechanism
 - Skydancer with lovely glitter
 - Gingerbread, cream colored but with only one faint cancer spot
 - Sparkle ponies Star Dancer and Sky Rocket with super nice tinsel
G3
 - Summer Bloom
 - Windy Whisp
 - Strawberry Surprise
 - Bee Bop
 - Tropical Delight
 - a Pinkie Pie lollipop holder?
G4
 - Twilight Sparkle with her saddle
 - Rarity with curled hair
 - Pinkie Pie with curled hair
 - Honeybuzz with her pet
There were also many G3s with haircuts and nine amateur customs I don't know what to do with. So if anyone has any advice on how to get rid/repurpose them, I would appreciate it! A PC would be nice too.
So, how did I do for my first time?

Pony Corral / Re: Are there checklists anywhere?
« on: May 15, 2015, 04:34:13 PM »
Dream Valley has a really nice G1 checklist, and an ok G3 one. (http://www.kimsites.net/dreamvalley/checklist_main.html)
Ponytopia has the best G3 checklist I've found so far. (http://www.ponytopia.com/)
Strawberry Reef has an ok G4 list, but I haven't found any other sites with a better one yet. (http://strawberryreef.com/Checklists/checkIndex.html)

I have really elaborate backstories and familial connections between all the G4 original characters. Honeybuzz and Cupcake are cousins, who is Pinkie Pie's cousin. Then my two Plumsweets are twins, and their third sister is Diamond Rose, with Cupcake being their aunt. Ploomette and Starbeam Twinkle are half siblings, Feathermay and Flitterheart are together, with Rainbow Dash being Feathermay's cousin... it goes on and on.

Bluerose's G1 ID guide is very helpful, it's what I use: http://www.angelfire.com/oh5/bluerose9978/PRICE/
Peachy - $3-4
Birthflower (Daisy) - $7
Salty - $11-12
Tootsie - $3-4
Pony Bride - $3-4
Romper - $6-7
Banana Surprise - $3-4
Steamer - $12-13
And of course, knock off a few dollars for major flaws, haircuts, etc. You should probably just take these at face value until someone with more knowledge comes along

Customs / Re: Help to ID these Customs? Thrift Shop Find.

Oh, I really love Blue Ribbon and that pink unicorn! They look so sweet  :lovey:

A really useful site for this kind of thing is the MLP Rerelease Encyclopedia: mlp.imagesofher.com
Your ponies are from the Wonder Waves Surf Shop value pack, just a later edition. Hasbro stopped using magnets in pony feet around 2008 so all ponies released (rereleased or for the first time) had the white hoof cap.

Price Check Archives / Re: PC: McD G3 toys, sealed
« on: May 02, 2015, 09:36:46 PM »
Maybe 50 cents to a dollar? I'm not sure if McD ponies are that sought after, even sealed, due to their mass quantities.
On the other hand, great find! Finding any ponies found in the wild is a lot of fun.

strawberryreef.com might be your best bet, it's a G3-centered pony site.

Wanted! / G4s, Equestria Girls, and Baits Wanted
« on: May 01, 2015, 08:43:51 PM »
I am looking for fakies in any sort of G4 mold. I'm planning to use them for party favors, but I can't find enough different ones.
I'm also looking for G4 Lulu Luck, Sweetie Drops, exclusives, any Equestria Girls dolls, or any ponies with their hair cut in the "show accurate" style. Also, any baits with salvageable hair. If you can help, thank you!

Pony Corral / Re: Year 3 as So softs?
« on: April 27, 2015, 10:46:37 PM »
(Please excuse the huge amount of information, I love So-Softs.)
It's NSS Truly and Cupcake who are so expensive, as they were only released in Scandinavia/South Africa/etc.
There's also a difference between US NSS Posey and European NSS Posey, as the US version has those easily-faded tulips as a symbol, and the European one has the magenta tulips like the SS under her flocking. Lickety Split has a similar variation as her normal US NSS release has lighter cones and her SS release has darker cones.
Like lunar_scythe said, there are two symbol variations with NSS Buttons. One has the three giant buttons like the SS, and the other has her cutie mark from the MLP & Friends show with the multiple buttons and stars.
And naturally, all the ponies like Gusty and Surprise don't have their glitter symbols when deflocked.
LadyMoondancer, I believe, does have a prototype Heart Throb with wings under her flocking.

Your NBBE customs are among the best I've seen. Your painting is so immaculate and the eyes are adorable!

BlueRose has a G1 price guide that's pretty useful for things like this: http://www.angelfire.com/oh5/bluerose9978/PRICE/

It looks like Starswirl's price is around $25.00

So cute! I love seeing these! I haven't owned one yet! Are they hard plastic?

Yep, completely hard plastic with brushable hair.

I used to have one of these! It was Rarity.
They're Mexico-exclusive ponies, but some of them found their way to Grocery Outlets in the US. That's where I got mine.
Personally, I really like them, and I want to get my Rarity back.   :)
