quite an interesting concept, its a good idea, maybe look up for "moomin bag" on google, they may be a nice inspiratio  on how they mix patterns, materials and characters appliques https://www.google.com/search?q=moomin+bag&rlz=1C1AFAB_enMX459MX459&es_sm=93&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=iIlxU83EGerK8gGnq4GIDg&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1920&bih=919

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Help with blind bag ID?
« on: May 05, 2014, 12:16:02 AM »
Hello!
Just came around for a little help
i been out of the loop of lps for a long time and blind bags have me confused

Could you tell me which ones have the new re designed style for the pets?
i know there are the

paint splash (wave 1?)
Party stylin  (wave 2?)
candy swirl.. i think
colorfully sweet?

also, any idea when came out? here we are still getting the old styled ones
any info would be highly appreciated

I'm in the minority(?) here. I think the previous big-headed LPS were ugly and the new ones are cute, stylish and have a much better, dynamic character design. I particularly love how they updated the hooved animals. Recently aquired the new llama and giraffe for a friend of mine and their long faces are just adorable. Much better compared to the squishy-looking pancake heads from the previous versions ^^#

I second this, i lost all interest on lps after G1, i was a grate fan but the toys that came after them were terrible to me, the big heads and small bodies and dropy eyes, to me they looked like chibis gone wrong, i specially disliked the eyes and how their cheeks looked, like they lacked sleep badly and their eye bags were melting down, and their begging eyes screamed "can i go to sleep now?"... maybe i was reflecting on them how i felt on those days thanks to college hahahaha :P
there were rare exeptions that seemied cute to me, like some tiny babies but never convinced me to get more than a couple
but this new design is totally appealing to me, i also love the llama long face and edgy angles, they remind me of vinyl collectibles, or designer toys, and it makes sense seeing that the one who designed them is an artist with a solid particular style (the kind of style i really like)
but that is also (i think) the reason they aren't that appealing to most people, specially the audience they were previously selling lps to, the change was quite drastic quite fast, funny tho, with mlp new look they styles seemed to match the style and may be liked as well, but it seems that wasnt the case.
this reminds me that time i had my g1 sugarberry with me and a 14 year told me she was ugly, that she liked the g3.5 that were being sold in stores at the time a lot more, that what i had didnt looked like a horse and had a weird face  woot! XD  what some people love others could hate :P

lol, just the other day i saw some disney animators doll fakies around, i think there are more fakies around of more things we can think of :P

Yeah, i think one of the biggest mistakes with the dolls was the marketing, recently just found that here in my country they were meant to be exclusive to one single store chain, that is actually a fancy super expensive one not every person goes, and only saw one bad translated commercial on the web stating that they do were exclusive, but it seems they sell none of them so they were returned and the plan is that they wont be exclusive any more, but they were a little fool here,  on the 30th here we celebrate childrens day and lots of toys are bought, but so far they havent re stocked them on the other stores, that is a big miss and loss for sales, and so not much people knew about the webisodes, i saw one in  spanish, it was fun how they changed a little the speach to give them more personality, pepper using lots of slang ( and i think she has the voice of spike here in mexico XD)
also as mentioned before the whole " fashion that loves fashion" is too much of the same regarding dolls , monster high has fashion and design onto the dolls, but is not the main focus nor biggest interest on the characters, EQG at least they had  friendship is magic theme... and the  new rock style isnt the same as all rocker dolls, at least they have some crazy colorful 80s and dont look like the classic fancy generic pop star dolls... well but there is still no movie so, who knows.
but it do is so sad they are officially over now, maybe here they will learn and next doll line will have a better theme but still a cute doll concept.

you can always make custom shelves for different kind of items, my tini figures and small dolls are kept on selves as small and thin as the dolls so i can place several shelves together, only the heavy groove dolls or big items that could brake are sitting on book shelves
