The Dollhouse / ID/PC 80's Strawberry Shortcake Thrift find?

 Hi all,

I was thrifting and saw this bag peeking out at me..

I couldn't resist buying it, since I recognized them and it seemed like so many!  Here is what the bag contained:

I thought I would ask her for some id's and pc's, and interest (if any).  They seem pretty clean and all smell vaguely sweet.  I would especially appreciate help matching up loose pieces and the pets :)

"How long will the train be delayed?" is perfect :)  You could also ask "How long is the delay?" or "When can I expect the train to arrive?".

  Congratulations!

I was recently late sending things off for someone due to having the flu, which is going around most of the Midwest right now.  I hadn't been logging in to the arena much b/c I was so sick, but it did cause a delay that I didn't feel up to writing my buyer about right away.

I think you can refund a gift- I refunded the 'shipping' part of the money she sent me on the ponies I was late mailing off, and it didn't give me any trouble.

I am so sorry for the late brag, Radha.

It's been a very bad time here.  I've almost been called into work every day I was supposed to be off, and now I believe I am off of work for a week ( or I better be so ) as I was in a pretty major car accident the other day.  My roommate and I were out and a person who was too busy texting on her phone slammed into us at 40mph because we had stopped for an ambulance.  Not fun.

Anyways, my partner was the lovely Radha, who got me the loveliest bunch of goodies!

So here is my box!  With my wine.  Which I don't know how that got on there.  Bad me.

And inside!  I see kitties!  Always a good sign!

Window clings and a beautiful card!  Also, cat tail.  That didn't come in the box.

Momo wondering if Radha packed any ham in there for her.  ( The answer to Momo is most definitely not. )

Chocolate!  I think Radha sent me like an entire pound of chocolate or more, but there was a lot because it took my roommate and I an entire two days to polish it all off! TWO days!

Cat toys!  Swaps: My excuse for never buying any cat toys, because everyone always sends me the best ones!

Coffee!  I'll never say no to coffee.  Oh coffee, how I love you.  This is almost all gone now, and we only started on this one a few days ago!

AND Princess Sunbeam!  She's almost flawless!  So much pretty! *.*

There were some other items in the box too, a picture frame ( that's holding an antique post card now! ) and kitty treats and the like, but that was my second glass ( goblet ) of wine that I kind of forgot a few things!

Thank you so much Radha!

I'm so happy you liked everything!  And I love your kitty pics   I'm terribly sorry to hear about your accident, MiRaja!  I hope you are doing ok and that the other person learned a lesson (and hopefully got in trouble >_<)

I've been down for almost two weeks with the flu (and then being exhausted going back to work before being quite better), so I just found this today anyway  :P

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: A problem with...my own auction?
« on: February 15, 2014, 07:12:43 PM »
Well, I went to cancel and Ebay wouldn't let me since there was less than 12 hours to go  It also wouldn't let me edit my description, even though the directions said that it would. >_<

So, I had no choice but to let it run. Now that it's over  i contacted the buyer and offered three choices: 1. Cancel the sale 2. Send them on and give a 4.00 refund or 3. I can send pics of a few other g1s that I have and they can choose another pony.

Does that seem fair? I hope they aren't too disappointed

Trader & Shipping Support / A problem with...my own auction?
« on: February 14, 2014, 08:55:37 AM »
So, last week I put up a small lot for sale on ebay of common g1s. I took photos and gave a brief description of each pony and started it cheap - I mostly just want to clear inventory and make some cash for an upcoming trip.

I got the flu this week  :( and so was perusing Ebay for fun. Saw my own auction and clicked through to see how my pictures looked. To my surprise as I enlarged the pics, it looks like my Bluebell has two small  brown dots! I went to check her out and sure enough, the flash revealed two small areas of discoloration that I hadn't seen before  They might be developing cancer - they are faint but not coming off

The problem is that I described her as being lovely, which I thought she was, and people have already bid. So, what is the most ethical way to handle this? Should I cancel the auction? Or just update the description? I don't have another Bluebell to offer and I don't want anyone to be disappointed. I've never cancelled an auction before and am not sure what happens if People have already bid.

I love the packaging- it's great fun to get a box that you just know is for you, and has ponies!

Extras! Fun stickers and erasers, and the cutest Valentine :) The best part so far, though- chocolate hearts! Seriously, I love candy and chocolate especially.

Then, a surprise- a beautiful drawing! What lovely ponies, all decorated for V-day...  You are a very talented artist, Dainty!  I didn't realize the significance, though...

It was a portrait!  It matched my lovely new Sparkle ponies, who are also all kitted out for Valentine's!  I love how they came all dressed up for the big day- such a cute idea  :iconclap:

The color is off in that pic though- they are both lovely and bright!  I've been looking for both of these girls for a while, and their tinsel is so nice.  They make a great pair for the swap.
This was my first ever swap box, and I'm so happy with it  :hope:  Thank you, Dainty! I love my new girls and will have to take another photo once they are up on my collector's shelf with their new herd

Pony Corral / Re: Restoration- Head swaping and such
« on: February 07, 2014, 07:23:49 AM »
I personally don't care about head or tail swapping at all.  I think it's a good way to get more good condition ponies.  That said, I've never been lucky enough to have two that I could do that to. I should start saving any loose tails I find!

The rehairing might be a bit different, though.  If you are just plugging a few holes without securing it, when the new owner later goes to brush or wash the hair and those come out, I could see them being upset.  I would definitely mention that if I knew how to do it and did it, making a point that I used original donor hair.

I'm a medium picky sort of collector, though- I don't mind if the neck seals are opened and don't look for mint ponies, just nm or good, so I would also say it depends on who you are dealing with.

Pony Corral / Re: Displaying baby sea ponies in floats - staining?
« on: February 07, 2014, 07:10:45 AM »
I don't have any floats, but you might try making a small ring out of acid free white paper and putting it between the pony and the float.  If you made it thin enough I would think it wouldn't be noticeable? And you would need so little it wouldn't be expensive to buy the paper and some acid free scotch tape to make the barrier.

I do think it's an important question.  Seeing so many ponies affected by accessories left on them, I don't store/display any of mine with clothes or accessories attached except for ribbons.  Although, a lot of that was perhaps a combo of accessories and moisture?

Off Topic / Re: We're going to Disney World! Tips?
« on: February 06, 2014, 07:45:43 AM »
Thanks, everyone!   If I have/rent a stroller, is there a place I can park it safely while we ride rides?

Also, how far ahead of time did you tell your kiddo that you were going?  I want her to have time to be excited but I know 6 weeks will seem like forever to her....and me, if she keeps asking how far away it is

Thanks, everyone!  I've never tried the hair dryer method but I should have time this afternoon.  I'll have to post a pic of my first Nirvana when she's all pretty again

Off Topic / We're going to Disney World! Tips?
« on: February 01, 2014, 04:11:50 AM »
So, my in-laws just surprised us by offering a trip to Disney World!  Which is of course awesome.  However, the trip is this spring break  :drunk:

I'm naturally something of a planner, so although I'm super excited (we have a 5yo daughter who is going to be soooooo thrilled)  I'm kinda overwhelmed.  Plus, I've never gone myself.  It seems so huge, with so many things to do, and oh my goodness, the food prices

I thought I would post here asking for tips and recommendations, since I suspect we have some Disney fans among us   Basically our hotel and ticket package is picked out, and I think they are getting a meal plan, so that's decided, but what else should I know?

MLP Nirvana / Cleaning Italians?
« on: January 31, 2014, 08:07:01 PM »
  Hi All,

I've acquired my first 'Nirvana'- a lovely Italian Surprise (sure to be the start of a bad habit!).  I want to clean her up a bit- she has tail rust.  Is there anything I need to know about opening and cleaning Italians vs. HK or China ponies?  I don't want to risk damaging my newest pony :P
