You guys are awesome :) Feeling the pony love, thanks soooo much!!

@Michelle53 ~ been collecting for 15 or 16 years now... First felt the MLP bug when I was a child... my first ponies were baby cotton candy, Honeysuckle, Moonstone and SS Heartthrob :) The rest, as they say, is history. :)

Oh Good! I'm used to being labeled as 'strange' by non-musicians b/c I write opera and performance art pieces, but it's nice to know that the pony community is accepting of all lovers of MLP despite their day jobs!! :)

@StarDragon ~ I am INCREDIBLY low tech, but my husband is a computer programmer by trade and loves photography. He and I need to have a day where we take pics of the pony room! I always sigh when I see posts in the Corral asking for pics and I'm like, "oooh! I have her! I want to post it!" But alas, not yet. Maybe if we get a major snowstorm this winter we'll have a self-imposed pony photo day!!

Pony Corral / Is this wierd?

So, I display my ponies in 15 or so custom made glass/wood trimmed floor to ceiling cases in the pony room. I could never afford to buy the cases (soooooo expensive!!!!), so I was lucky enough to be able to barter with a neighbor (who happened to be a carpenter) about 10 years ago. I'd teach his daughter to play the piano every week (I'm a classical composer and pianist) and he'd pay - not in cash, but in display cases for my beloved ponies!!!

It took about 3 years, but I finally got all of my cases... I now display all of my G1's and G2's there (not G3's yet... still waiting to collect the whole lot MIB... only a few left..., and then I'll have a marathon de-boxing day!!).

The cabinets were designed to have a front glass panel as well, so all ponies are completely encased. But the front panel can be opened whenever I'd like to switch up my display or add new beauties to the herd.

So, what I'd like to know is... is it weird or strange that each night before I go to bed, I go into my pony room and open the doors (ever so slightly) to all of my pony cabinets? I just feel like even though they're not in boxes, they're still in display cases, and I want them to run free at night ~ kind of like Night at the Museum or Toy Story. Almost as if, when I'm not looking, they'll all hang out at the show stable or the castle or jump out of their cases and have a grand old time until I get up the next morning and close the cases again.

Is it weird? Or do I just love ponies too much? Or should I make an appointment immediately with a therapist?

Thanks guys! I actually hadn't thought of exchanging her at TRU (seems a bit obvious now!). It was my pre-ordered TRU purchase, so I have the receipt. :)

So, my Zecora finally arrived over the weekend and when I opened up the shipping box, her plastic bubble had come loose! So she was still MIB, just sort of rolling around in there. Boo!!!!

One of my favorite things about the fair and con ponies is displaying them still in box and showing off the box art. But as she's hanging out upside down right now, I think the only humane thing to do will be to de-box her and let her live freely with my other loose ponies.

...I just keep picturing her during shipping bumping around inside her box... she probably has some sort of head trauma

Ah, well. At least she's part of the herd now! Has this happened to anyone else?

Pony Corral / Re: What's your current collection count?
« on: August 28, 2012, 05:58:23 PM »
I just LOVE seeing what other gens collectors focus on! I have most of the G3 line MIB, so around 350? Plus numerous doubles and a bunch of G2 MOC, and a nice handful of G1's ... so somewhere a bit over 500.

But the secret is, I have recently started collecting G1 UK's ... and I ADORE them!!! The pony madness will never end!

Pony Corral / G3 Limited release ~ how many did they make?
« on: August 28, 2012, 05:32:46 PM »
Was just curious... I've had trouble finding info about the MLP project ponies. I know the 2005 white pony had a run of 2,000 and was sold for (i believe) $10.

The black MLP NYC project pony was sold for (again, I think) $20 ... I don't know how many were made?

And then the TAF MLP project pony, from what I remember she wasn't sold, but just given to attendees (please correct me if I'm wrong!!), and I have no clue as to how many were made.

Does anyone know how many ponies were made re: the black and TAF pony? Thanks so much!!!

Also, if anyone has info on other G3 limited releases in regards to how many were made, please post!! If I remember correctly Bay Breeze had around 300, Frisco and Trolley 150 each, not sure about breast cancer, rosey posey, graffiti variants, licensing pinkie and rarity ... any info you have would be most welcome :)

« on: August 03, 2012, 10:22:34 PM »
Hi all!! Extensive want list posted below, and always happy to trade for what I need, have dozens of MOC/NRFB G2's and G3's available, please inquire if you have wants and would like to trade. :)  100% positive ebay feedback. My pony schma...

I collect MIB/NRFB G3 ponies and playsets only. Nothing taken out of packages and then put back. Nothing loose. No plush, tins, ponyville, McD’s, general merch etc... On to the pony wants ... again, MIB and NRFB ONLY  **** = most wanted, FD = Family Dollar, but you already knew that

The Dollhouse / Re: Price Check NRFB Jem dolls/fashions
« on: August 03, 2012, 11:46:56 AM »
Thanks guys! Yup ~ that's what I searched ... completed ebay listings. Some (pretty common) NRFB dolls and fashions 'sold' prices doubled or even tripled over the course of a week or two. CRAZY!!

The Dollhouse / Price Check NRFB Jem dolls/fashions
« on: August 03, 2012, 11:22:12 AM »
I hope I'm posting this in the right place! I have a number of NRFB/MOC Jem dolls and fashions, and I haven't been able to find a reliable site to do a price check (and ebay listings are all OVER the place!).

I might sell my doubles so that I can purchase more on my want list, but my price guides are about 10 years old... I don't want to charge too much, and I don't want to overpay.

Any help you could give me would be fantastic ~ Thanks!!!!    :P
