Off Topic / Re: What color are your eyes?

I have central heterochromia, very dark gray eyes with a wide golden brown ring around the pupil. On an almost related note, my paternal grandfather had such creepy pale blue eyes that his irises hardly show in photos.

Well, Poland indeed function as a separate republic during the Soviet Union's existance. What I meant was that they were part of the Eastern Bloc (also known as the Soviet Bloc), which means that even though we were technically a "satellite state" we were still pretty much under the watchful eye of "The Big Brother".

Maybe I should've phrased my previous post a little better... :P
Indeed, it sounded like you were confusing the Soviet Union and the Soviet-led bloc :P

Poland was also a member of the Soviet Union during the 80s
This is getting OT, but no, it wasn't, unless I'm missing something? Poland never was a SSR but an (at least nominally) independent People's Republic, while Estonia was absorbed in the Soviet Union.

Well, as Estonia was part of the Soviet Union till 1991, I wouldn't expect to find G1s there. No idea about the later generations, I hope someone can help.

Lovely! I don't know why but I like Greek Bowtie, even though her design is in fact very simple. And Greek eyes just have something special to them.

Thank you all for your response! I'm thrilled to hear Spaniards are this valuable. This pony is just a random find from almost 10 years ago and I have kept him all these years not really knowing where to put him. It's time he found a more loving home.

As for the trade, I have scraped up a wishlist - feel free to PM me if you see something up there. If finding a trade partner becomes a problem, I may consider selling the pony, but this is not urgent.

The ideal trade would be for a single pony of somewhat equal value (like one of the rarer nirvana LDs), but getting a couple of, erm, more common rares will be of course considered (depending on the items). What I don't really want is a massive lot of considerably more common items. And yes, I could trade him for FSF stuff too.

Fed up with the task of maintaining several lists, I've outsourced my wishlist and all related info. An up-to-date link is given in my signature!

MLP Nirvana / *GONE* PC/interest in a Spanish TE Goloso/Sweet Stuff?

***This pony has been traded!***

Any PC ideas on this pony? Click for LARGE photos: DS - NDS

She has several minor flaws as follows: some extra plastic around the neck seam, 1 plug missing from bottom of mane, topmost plug about 1/2 shorter than the rest, most pearlized coating on the eyes is gone, tiny rubs to blushes, 2 very faint pink spots on NDS (barely visible in the photo), symmetrical dents to both ears (odd, huh?), some uneven plastic above NDS eye, rattles inside. Sounds worse than looks I guess.

Edit: forgot to add that she has "S.K." written in ballpoint under one hoof. Not visible on display...
I don't really know what to do with this pony. (S)he (I remember reading somewhere that Goloso's in fact male :drunk:) is a flea market find I've never loved - I absolutely loathe this pose and would be more than happy to trade him/her for a wish list item of equal value, like one (or several, depending on the ponies) of the more elusive Lemon Drop variants, but I could use a PC to begin with. Also, give me a shout if you happen to be interested in a trade (or buying, but I'd prefer a trade - I'm here for the ponies, not the monies).

Are all the Sundae Best Ponies alterd (not thinking about their 3d symbol)?
No. If 3d symbols don't count, Peppermint Crunch and Swirly Whirly are the only unique poses. The rest are Coco Berry - Powder, Crunch Berry - Tootsie, Sherbet - Posey and Banana Surprise - shy, unless I'm mistaken...

Actually, all of them are resculpts. Compare any of them to earlier ponies in the same pose, and they all look slightly different. Peppermint Crunch is the Firefly pose and Swirly Whirly is the Collectors pose.

Also someone posted Princess Misty - she is a resculpt of the Moondancer pose! In fact I think the whole 2nd Princess set is made from resculpted poses.

^ Wow... never noticed that... *has none at hand right now and searches frantically for photos* P. Crunch and S. Whirly are the only ones that stand out to me, so this far I've only counted them as unique poses.

Do you mean in terms of number of different ponies produced? Talking about G1 poses, the Peppermint Crunch/"altered Firefly" pose was used only once and all the D'nW baby poses are unique, but the ponies themselves are not particularly hard to find. Then there are nirvana poses most people will probably never have in their collection, like piggies. Several different ones were produced but since the ponies are so HTF I'd consider it a "rare" pose.

Granted! Your entire collection transforms into 1001 autographs by my grandma. Ever heard about her? She's a farmer-landowner's wife from Western Finland. Cool, eh?

I wish I could take ballet lessons more often.

Pony Corral / Re: My name is *** and I'm....
« on: February 18, 2013, 12:22:18 PM »
Hi, my name is E-K and I’m a Lemon Drop fan.

I collect which generation/s? G1 and only G1.
Am I a set completer? Not really, if I don't like every pony in a set.
Am I a customiser? NNOOO
Did I have ponies as a child? Yes, I grew up on G1. My dearest pony was (is!) a Player called Galaxy.
Will I try to rescue a pony from the brink of the rubbish bin? In principle they all deserve to be rescued, but I guess it depends on the pony... It would be best to find them all loving homes and rescue them that way!
If I absolutely had to pick a single favourite pony (I’ve been feather tortured and subjected to fakie throwing), it'd be: Lemon Drop
My current grail is: A complete Rama Llama
If I won the lottery then my grail would change to: an Imperial German regimental standard - wait, that's not a pony! Perhaps MIB Megan's Place
One thing I don't like about pony collecting is: My bad thrift store karma
Can I bring myself to sell doubles? Depends on the pony. Also, I'd rather trade than sell.
Original curls or perfect symbols? Perfect symbols
Chewed horns or hair-cuts? Depends on which stands out less. I loathe haircuts though.
MOC/MIB that I cannot open or my ultimate grail (loose) in so-so condition? Ultimate grail. I'm not much of a MOC/MIB person and love scrubbing and styling filthy ponies.
Hasbro should make or should’ve made: The ice cream shop from MLP Tales as a playset. The Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe is a good approximation though.
The set or pony they got right on: The second set of flutters, or flutters in general. I'd say 7-Tales if Bright Eyes' pose weren't ruining them for me. Also, the Rockin' Beats rock it for me.
The set or pony they got plain wrong: Surprise Twins Mommy and the Gingerbread and Moondancer poses. Also, I'm going to be a conformist and say BBE babies. I'm not into babies in general and these are just plain creepy. It's not so much the eyes as the molds.
If I was a pony, who would I be? Perhaps Crumpet, because I drink tea and am So Soft.
My favourite pony colour? Tough one...  I tend to think in terms of color combinations, so it's hard to name a single favourite. Perhaps green or turquoise? I cannot think of a green pony I didn't like.
My favourite pony pose? Cloud Puff or Milky Way.
Ponies make me feel... energetic!!

Pony Corral / Re: Advice on Parting With Ponies
« on: February 18, 2013, 07:48:25 AM »
When selling/trading to another collector, it's comforting to know that the ponies will be loved in their new home and make someone happy. Still, the difficulty of it all depends on the personality of the pony. It's not that hard to part with a Skyflier or a Masquerade, since they are sure of themselves, or a princess, since I know princesses will be loved thanks to their charisma and manners. Many baby ponies are cheerful and flexible and usually adjust to their new environment in no time, as long as they are taken good care of. But I don't think I could ever let go of a Crumpet. She's a sensitive pony who needs stability and a loving home to nurture her confidence. Being adopted out may depress her.

I see. For you it should be fairly simple. The only difficulty is that you cannot always know how much the recipient's bank will charge them for conversion.
