The Dollhouse / Re: BJD custom question

More like a large scar, but would be on the shoulder/neck area, so I am worried about it rubbing.

The Dollhouse / BJD custom question
« on: February 04, 2012, 09:25:39 PM »
I understand that if you paint (pastel, make up, etc.) near a joint, that it can chip or rub off of that spot. I was just wondering though, if I wanted to paint something on the body of my eventual Lutz Annette, what would be the best way to go about it? Something similar to the techniques people use for a face up?

Very well done, what materials did you use to make them besides the foil?
Just the wire armature and sculpey. A ton of sculpey. I actually need to go buy more now >.> The mesh was a little big though, so it kept trying to cut through the clay.

I am so happy you all like it!
(p.s. I do happen to be open for commissions... *whistles innocently*)

I might be the only one who thinks this, but I don't really like Operetta's scar in the sense that it is a scar. It is just too... pretty. I mean, scars don't look pretty like that. I understand it is a toyline and it needs to look good (mattel has done a really good job with choices like this) but it is just not for me. But that is good, because it keeps me from spending money on all these dolls :D

I just bought a wig and I am freaking out about the wait. I just want to be positive it will work and look right and get here safely. Then, another type of waiting, I am saving up for two dolls and the wait... *fidget fidget*

D8 This is terrible! I don't know what I am going to do. I am having a hard time finding red wigs in the style I want, but that is alot of money to make a snap desicion over. This is stressful...

Customs / Ice Phoenix (first sculpted wings) New close-ups on page two
« on: February 01, 2012, 01:11:20 PM »
I was excited and nervous about this pony. I used a wire armature for wings and tail, but they are sooooooooo heavy. Amazingly, she stands just fine and is not front heavy. Her hair is Starlight, Moonlight, Snowflake, and some dyed light blue.
It is supposed to be and ice pheonix with a little peacock flair thrown in.

What do y'all think? Did I do okay for my first attempt at wings?

She is a swap pony, so, NFS

(please forgive my fail MSpaint skills)

*hugs knibitz and does not let go* My hero! I still mostly blame you for my currect perdicament! ^w^ I should have the money (between promotion and tips and ponies) to get both of them in well under a year.

umm... >.> does it automatically look bad if a doll has a slightly too-big wig?

Oh you people! I went from not wanting to spend very much on this hobby to saving up for $1290.26 worth of doll stuff! And, that is 2 dolls + 2 wigs + 2 pairs of eyes O.O They are going to sit around my house /naked/ because I cannot find (or afford) clothes! (well, the right clothes for them and the period their characters are from) Sad, cold, nude little (little might be stretching it) dollies...

Two things though: Luts wigs are confounding me and I cannot locate their #/# measurements on the two I want >.<
Also, can someone explain to me how bjd eyes sit in their heads? I suppose it is a silly question, but inquiring minds (mine) want to know. Are they terribly difficult to swap out?

And I think that just about sums up my pestering. Until I buy them, that is.

A clear picture of Sea Breeze (the G1 pegasus) 's flank symbol? Or just a really good side shot so I could also clearly see her hair blend.

I would greatly appreciate it!
