Pony Corral / Re: What's in your clean-up kit?
« on: December 19, 2015, 02:09:46 AM »

All this hangs out in my Storage Space For Pony Restoration Supplies:
- Soap
- Conditioner
- Toothbrushes
- Soda crystals (soda crystals and boiling water are my Answer to Everything, from rusty insides to general grime)
- Rit hair dye
- Fine tooth comb (for tangly hair)
- Small Mason & Pearson hairbrush (also for tangly hair)
- Plastic toy hairbrush (for non-tangly hair)
- A big box of assorted hair :)
- Rehairing supplies: pliers, wire, penknife etc.
- Glue, and some swarovski crystals for G2 eye replacement
- Milliput (modelling stuff that's good for replacing missing parts)
- Hairdressing supplies: straws, clips, ribbons, etc.

....Phew. LOADSA PONY EQUIPMENT! :)

Pony Corral / Re: What pony flaw do you dislike the most? Vote and discuss!
« on: December 14, 2015, 01:19:22 AM »
Every flaw is strangely beautiful to me. Either it can be fixed (and restoring ponies is so much fun), or it adds character. Yay for flawed ponies!
Seriously, no pony is too flawed for me. One of my best ever purchases was a grubby little G3 Meadowbrook whose back legs had been chewed off (!). Washed her thoroughly (boiling water and soda crystals are the best thing ever), and made her new legs out of some modelling stuff called Milliput, and I love her all the more because of it :)
I'm glad not everyone loves flawed ponies as much as I do. That means all the more for meeee! :D

I'm Jack's very happy new owner! He turned up yesterday while I was out so I have to pick him up from the sorting office tomorrow. Soooo excited!! He will certainly be very loved and well looked after here :)

Have her! The colour change stripe in her hair still works - so pretty!

I've got one in a bad way that I'm going to restore (her new hair just turned up in yesterday's post)
Her name is so silly (in a nice way!) I call mine Pineapple.

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: "Resealed by Global Shipping Program"

I am so disillusioned by GSP. I ordered some ponies from America over a month ago, and they have yet to show up. I kind of doubt they ever will. I really wanted them too *cries*
But, lesson learnt. No more GSP for me. I'm glad to see some sellers aren't taken in by it either.

Pony Corral / Re: What Was the First Pony in Your Collection?

Mine was Baby Ribbon! She was followed by Little Flitter and Baby Tippytoes. All three are displayed prominently together as founding members of the collection.

I have Baby Sunbright. I wonder if I'll ever find the rest of her family? I love their hair.

Pony Corral / Re: POTD 4/18/2015 Fancy Mermaid Ponies
« on: April 25, 2015, 02:26:39 AM »
I have all three, and my goodness they are adorable! I like them more than sea ponies, wish they'd made more of them.

I like them more than Sea Ponies myself. :) Mainly, I think, because they have "arms." I realize the Sea Ponies were designed based on seahorses, which is clever, but I like them to have one set of ... arms ... legs? The Sea Ponies always look so awkward to me....

Question on these mermaid Ponies: are they prone to rusting inside as much as Sea Ponies are? I hardly ever hear about them and don't know much of anything about their inner structure as compared to Sea Ponies.

I haven't taken mine apart, so I'm not a great expert on the structure of mermaid ponies, but they don't seem at all rusty. They don't have weights in them (I put them in some water when I got them to see if they floated upright like sea ponies; they just floated sideways like regular ponies) so I suppose there's nothing to go rusty.
