Pony Corral / Re: Cheating on my childhood pony!
« on: October 25, 2012, 07:47:08 PM »
I've felt that way and I talked myself out of it, which I now regret.

My fave pony was Firefly (her full story is in this link http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,312087.0.html).  She was so loved she turned became very baity.  Poor Firefly.  Now, when I started collecting I got a newer, lovelier Firefly and thought I'd use my old Firefly for a special custom pony for myself.  However, I'd never created a custom pony before and so she ended up as more of an 'experiment' pony.  Last I saw her she was covered in marker from yet another idea but now I have no idea where she is!  I wouldn't have thrown her out, would I?  Well, the guilt is big and I don't think I'll ever my old Firefly again.

I'm even worse with my Teddy Bear, Frenchy.  I packed up my stuffies for storage and I just couldn't pack up Frenchy.  I kept thinking how mean that would be, how, after all she's been to me, she deserves better.  I even apologize to her if she's fallen behind the bed or something and didn't notice for a while.  I know she's just a toy, as is Firefly, but they're more than that.

Pony Corral / Re: Displaying Problem

Just remember that ponies were built to endure toy boxes and younger kids so they are pretty tough toys :)

That's very true.  I think the issue of caution comes from long periods of storage.  As PurpleCheeseStick and I can attest, long periods of time with the same pressure points on a toy, or any tough but flexible item, can squish or dent.  Ponies with harder plastic, like the big brothers, would be less prone to the point of being immune.

As long as there's not heavy stuff on top of them I think they should be fine.  I had some G1's in a box with other hard toys and some of them got a bit squished though not too bad.  Heavier boxes may have gotten placed on top of that box to aggravate the problem.  I also found that the ponies who were prone to having their legs squish together (usually back legs), so that they couldn't stand, were better off with something separating the legs when being stored in boxes like I did.  I like to put a nice firm packing peanut in between those legs.

I have her, too.  She was my first princess pony, and she came with all accessories, well, except for the ribbon.  :(   I really like her pale colouring and her regal pose.

Check the freezer....I have found missing ponies in there before! Don't ask me how or why they were there, I was just glad to find them :)

LOL  Have you seen those commercials for Alzheimer's?  This sounds familiar...  Too funny, though, way too funny.  Thanks for making my day.   :haha:

If you kept them in plastic bins it's doubtful they got tossed so I'm sure you're ok on that front.  Have you done trades and forgot?  I know that's most likely what happened to me, that and sales I've forgotten about, but the key is that I knew that I had sold a bunch of ponies and traded others.  Still have my fingers crossed for you!

Oh ya, me too!  Got the collection out of storage and I'm like... I thought I had so-and-so... where's my baity ponies? I know I had a black markered Firefly.  I went through all the boxes, and the list I'd made when they went into storage says I'm not missing any pony boxes.    I guess I sold them years ago when I first started to weed out my ponies.  But Minty?  Really?  I thought I'd held onto her.  As I went through the boxes I kept finding pony stuff (not ponies though) and I have a feeling I'll still be 'encountering' pony stuff in the future.

Good luck and I hope you find your ponies.  Have you asked your parents if they know of any more boxes?  Did one get damaged and thrown out by mistake?  What a horrible thought, I know! :yikes:

That's all I could find.  It's hard to say who and where it's from or even if they're all a knock-off of another castle like the pony fakies.  It's cute, though, especially your yellow one.

So many MOC ponies!!!!   :frolic:

I only have the castle.  It was my pony grail so I was so happy to finally get it and wanted so badly to open everything.  Now it needs a new home  , oh well, such is life.

Here are some pics.
