Happy Birthday!!  I am only 2 years away also.  And am I the only one or do other people forget how old they are every now and then too?  I have had to stop and think real hard on how old I am, twice!  LOL!      The other day I couldn't remember if I was 27 or 28.  And it was a real bummer when I realized I was a year older!  :lookround:   Am I the only kook that has done this?

Pony Corral / Re: Where can watch my little pony g1?

You can also buy the season 1 box set which is awesome!!
Yes I have this box set too.  They are DVDs in case anyone is wondering.  I bought it about 9 years ago or so.  Around when they first started selling them. It is actually what got me into seriously collecting ponies.  Then I looked on ebay for the first time to be able to buy them and I got hooked on ebay!
Anyway you can buy the G1 1st season DVD set on walmart.com still I think.  I'm pretty sure I saw it there recently.

Customs / FIM Pound Cake & Pumpkin Cake Newborn Twin Customs
« on: January 25, 2012, 12:50:29 AM »
As most of you know Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake are the Newborn Twins on one of the more recent FIM shows! I just Love newborn twins so when I saw them on the show I jumped at the chance to make them! Pound Cake is a baby pegasus and Pumpkin Cake is a baby unicorn. They are only about 1 3/4 inches tall! They are the correct size for display with the regular sized G4 MLPs! They were hand sculpted with paperclay that I found at Hobby Lobby. I actually liked it quite a bit. It is alot lighter than the other clays we use but it is still just as sturdy. Then I painted them with acrylic paints and sealed them with 2 layers of matte finish modpodge. Let me know what y'all think! visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Selling them on my ebay account. Here is the link:

Pony Corral / Re: How do you display your collection?!
« on: January 23, 2012, 04:55:19 PM »
I have th perfect thing to display ponies on that shows them all off very well and doesn't take up to much space!  I use wooden multi shelf CD shelves.  They only stick out about 4 inches from the wall and they hold lots of ponies!

Anyway, that is a picture of 2 of the CD shelves side by side and I also actually have the shelves sitting on my daughters dresser.  I have an other one that is taller sitting on the floor.  And I just bought another one for out computer room and I should be able to stack one more on top of it and it will just fit from floor to ceiling.  I have been buying this paticular one at Big Lots stores for $40.  But I'm sure you may be able to find other ones in other stores.  Let me know what you think.

Thanks everypony for the warm welcome!! :hugs:  :D

What is your favouite gen? Gen 1,Gen 3,Gen 3.5 or Gen.4(Friendship is magic)?
It's really hard to decide.  I actually like Gen 1, 3, and 4 a whole lot!  But if I had to decide I think I would pick Gen 1 because I grew up with them and they bring back fond memories!  :D
I lived in Houston proper. :)
Oh, I've always wanted to live closer to the coast!  I know Houston's not that close but it would be nice to be able to drive down for a day trip.  When we go we have to stay for a few days and have to get a hotel so we don't go to often.  But I love the ocean!  I wish ours was as crystal clear as like the beaches of the Caribbean or Florida.

And in response to kiwimlp~  I do like some of the G2s also.  I have a few of them.  I have Silver Swirl, Copper Glow, and Princess Crystal.  And I REALLY want to get my hands on Hip Holly and a few others.  :D

Introductions / Hi Y'all, from Texas!
« on: January 21, 2012, 06:36:19 PM »
Hi to everyone here at the arena!  I have been a member at the TP for a little while and have been meaning to join here also, so Hi!  My username at the TP is the same as here.  My name is Rachel and I am 27 and live in Temple, TX.  Its an hour from Austin and even closer to Kileen.  I am a stay at home mom right now.  I have a 2 and a half year old daughter named Chloe and a 1 year old son named Andrew.  And my hubby of 4 years, Norman.  My family is my life but I also love pony collecting, obviously, and animals and art.  My previous jobs have been at animal hospitals as a vet. tech. and a humane society, and the toy department of walmart.  All of them I enjoyed because they all have to do with my hobbies.  ;)   "If you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life."  I have an Associates of arts degree from Temple college and I wanted to get a bachlors too but I could never figure out what kind I wanted to go for.  I might still get one once our kids are in school. :)
I have been seriously collecting ponies for about 10 years.  Of course I  had some when I was a little girl!  They were MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TOY!  I had one of the little MLP carrying barns for a carrying case but once it was full my mother didn't think I needed any more ponies.  :(   She liked baby dolls so she liked to get me dolls but I didn't play with dolls much.  I always played with animal toys.  I even got my 3 boy cousins to play ponies with me every time we would visit them!!    Anyway, when the MLP TV show season collection came out in the DVD set.  I was like oh I used to love MLP so I got it so I could watch them again.  After I watched them I wanted to find my old ponies and couldn't find them so I looked on ebay to see if they sold there.  And I created a monster!  I started collecting just G1 at first.  I have gotten my hands on most of the G1 ponies (not including international) except some of the more rare ones and a few sets that I don't really care to collect.  I never really liked the G2 ponies.  Hasbro messed up there I think.  They reminded me of generics and when they first came out I really didn't believe they were actual MLPs.  I wasn't crazy about the 3.5's either.  Then I loved the G3 set when they came out so I collected nearly all of them also.  I say that in past tense because I have had to slim my herd A LOT over the last 4 years.  I don't like having to store them in boxes if I don't have room and I like to view them all so I started slimming the ones that I wasn't to crazy about.  I have my collections on very large wooden CD racks so it saves alot of space and it only sticks out about 4 inches from the wall so its like a 3D picture of colorful ponies!   I also love the new G4 ponies!  And love the Hub TV show FIM as well!
I also love to do custom ponies!  Though I have a bad habbit of starting projects and pausing them for quite a while until I finish them finally monthes later!  Some are still unfinished.  I love to come up with ideas for customs though.  I have a drawing book full of them.  I actually had to get new one recently because I filled the other one.  I am currently working on Pound Cake and Pumpkin cake from the more recent FIM show.  I LOVE newborn twins!  I plan to post and sell the first set I make on ebay.  They came out good I think.  I just have to paint them.  I'll post pics in a couple of days and y'all can let me know what you think!  Hope to see yall around the arena!
