Pony Corral / Re: Creative Ribbon Use!

It's hard to tell from the photo, but I found this ribbon that matches Sundance's symbol and made this sort-of-custom around it:

Pony Corral / Re: Crimped hair...

Crimped hair from my experience absolutely can be conditioned, even with hot water; the crimps hold very well. However, with the amount of frizz yours has, I'm not sure it'll help. But definitely, I'd try it.

The hair is probably photoshopped like everything else in the picture. I'm not sure it's even the same resolution as the body. There's certainly more detail in the strands, while the body had the brightness turned way, way up.

Pony Corral / Re: Does anyone collect the variations of the Mane 6?

I think Easter Fluttershy specifically is only really special if she is still in her packaging, as the packaging is what was unique about that release. :)
Well, like I said, the figure does have some flowers on one leg that I don't think are on any other release.

Yeah, I think I'll just stick her on my sales site when I get a chance to take a photo.

Yeah, see, I'd expect some people collect the ones with distinct, different features, but this one's differences seem pretty minor, and I have no idea how appealing or not that kind of variation is to others.

I recently got another G4 Fluttershy, this time apparently she's the Easter release with a few flowers on her foreleg. I don't really know what else to do with her, so I was thinking I'm going to just customize her, but I don't know, do people collect the different releases? I'm pretty sick of them, but that's just me.

Pony Corral / Re: Restored or flaws?
« on: October 19, 2015, 05:11:09 PM »
Depends. I generally don't want to buy touched-up ponies because I can do it myself, and if I can't do it myself, I usually prefer the flaws. Although the only thing I'll repair fairly consistently is eye scuffs (or symbol wear/scuff on cheap ponies). I used to have black acrylic that was perfect for the ones with black eye-lines, and you really couldn't tell.

Yeah, sorry, I actually originally *was* going to sell Scoops individually until I found the rest of the pieces just a few weeks later. Actually, I found parts from 3 Sweet Shoppes in second-hand stores over just two months!

Off Topic / Re: Asking about a potential job opening?
« on: October 19, 2015, 11:42:23 AM »
Well, I sent it. Thanks ^_^

(As for them telling us about her leaving, at least part of that was to invite us to a party on her last day, which I couldn't go to because it was literally in the middle of the week)

Off Topic / Asking about a potential job opening?
« on: October 18, 2015, 01:41:27 PM »
Maybe someone can give me some advice about how to do this.

The volunteer coordinator where I volunteer recently emailed us to let us know that one of the current employees is leaving. I want to ask if a job opening might now be coming up so that I don't miss it, but I'm not sure what a tactful way to ask would be. I don't want to imply that a potential job is the only reason I've been volunteering (it's not, but also, they all but said that's not cool on the volunteer application even though they have mentioned in person strategies to get hired there, so...it's mixed?). Any advice on how to phrase this sort of thing? Or what not to say?

I think I want to say something like "I saw XXX is leaving and I'm wondering if you know or can tell me if a job opening may be posted. I might be interested in applying if one comes up."
I realize this is really informal, but they know me reasonably well. Thoughts?

The neck seam looks weird because the head is turned, so it doesn't line up. And yeah, it *does* look like the anniversary mold....what did they do, photoshop one of those to look like Glory?

I'm really bothered by the false advertising here. With Firefly, I could accept that maybe the image was just a concept picture that never got updated once the real sculpt of the figure was complete, but now they're doing it again? That's clearly the original toy with it's head turned a little! Their lying makes me not want it more than the poor quality sculpt of Firefly did.

Pony Corral / Re: Leave factory curl alone?
« on: October 17, 2015, 05:55:19 PM »
I would try to save it...It's so hard to still find factory curl, and it won't look the same if you recurl it. If it seems like it's gathered dirt/dust and gotten dull, I would maybe try to gently wash it with cool water and a little shampoo/conditioner - as in, keep it in your hand so the weight of the water doesn't stretch the curls out, very gently scrunch it, and try to smooth it back into place without pulling/combing the curls, and gently squeeze/pat the excess water out and then let it dry. True, at this point in time, factory curl is almost never going to look at smooth as if you recurl it, but to me it's worth saving most of the time when I can, and yours is pretty gorgeous.
