First paid commission pony is finally complete!! I take long enough to complete a standard custom - creating a commission apparently takes me at least 12 weeks, gah.
I was given the vague idea of a Hunger Games custom with a forest theme and features the Mockingjay symbol from the Hunger Games series and this is end result...
This G1 bride pony was rehaired in numerous shades of greens and browns, her hair was curled and styled. Eyes hand painted and varnished. Mockingjay symbol, trees and leaves sculpted from polymer clay, dusted with mica powder and varnished. Hope the customer is happy with her!

Oof, I wish they’d just stuck with the G4 pop style, it was much cuter. The long horsey faces look really weird on those chibi bodies. That being said, I’m so incredibly happy they made the full set of 6 I will absolutely be getting these guys. They’re not ugly, just... weirdly proportioned.
Wouldn't that negate them being G1 Collector Ponies?
It would indeed, but it would’ve been interesting if they did a g1 in g4 pop style!!

Unfortunately you may be right, and that is one of the main reasons I fear FIM has destroyed MLP for good.
I liked RD in G3, and graduated with her in 2003, but I was never much for Pinkie's coloiur scheme and I can't stand the FIM versions of either pony.
They make me happy to have grown up with G1. I will never give up on hoping Hasbro will eradicate them permanently in G5, but I won't hold my breath.
Sounds like you have quite the disdain for Pinkie and RD lol. I personally am not a huge fan of twilight sparkle, but didn’t really mind RD or pinkie. Luna / nightmare moon & Celestia were my favorites from FIM! They are what made the show worth while IMO. I also LOVE G3 & G4 minty.

I am obsessed with them!!! I bought a whole case when my target had them, and I have 7 now lol. Gwen and lady Gigi are my favorites. There is a little trick to identifying them; if you look closely at the packaging in store it is a bit transparent around the eye area- so you can see the eye of the pet to determine which one you’re getting (but unfortunately not which version since there are two of each pet) but each case has one of each pet. Hope that helps!
Do you think you can share photos of them in comparison to MLP? I’d love to get an idea of their size!

Yeah... I vaguely remember someone doing a custom of one and it still worked too. There is/was a tutorial about how to take them apart and fix the mechanism years ago. I might be able to dig it up.
I have 2. 1 is a definitive bait pony (she’s in rough shape!), but both of the growing tails still work, so I’d like to avoid breaking them lol.
