Yes, utilize the silica packets any time ponies end up in storage.

I do not know who Jaime Dornan is, but dang he is hot - LOL! Sorry, I was distracted by your avatar!

Thank you! Would it be better to try to fit the totes in a closet? Would I still do the silica packets?

Hi gals and guys -

I have a question for you. We are going to have a bit of work done on our flat and I am worried about my toys. I want to store them temporarily (a few weeks - I hope) in our basement, but it tends to be damp at times. Normally I would store them in totes wrapped in tissue paper with silica packets. Is this OK? I have invested quite a bit in my collections and would hate to see them get ruined. Thanks in advance for all of your help :)

Icey:  do you have the dcpi (should be on receipt) for your uni/peg ponies?  Thanks

I think I threw out the receipt. Let me check. I knew I was not going to return them.

Dang, I kept the receipt for the party (with Butterscotch on it), but not the other. I am a freak about receipts because of BPA. Don't ask.

Wow! :) They look fantastic. I hope I find them soon.

Ponyfan

They are really lovely. It is funny because this lady looks at my cart and she says 'Your children are VERY lucky.' I said "They are indeed, but most of the ponies are for me." LOL! We left Target with $165 worth of toys yesterday NOT including the birthday gift which I rang up separate. I try to be good, but I just LOVE toys. It is so hard to say no - LOL! My kids are amazing too, not brats, so I do not mind spoiling them.

They had the first wave of collector ponies and several of the Pretty Parlors and these six beauties. No rainbow ponies (which I was trying to buy for a little girl's party I am going to on Friday).

Congrats! I love SSC minis. I used to have an almost complete collection years ago and just started recollecting them last year.

Went to Target today to let my kids spend their yard sale earnings and they had six new ponies there (unicorns and Pegasus). I snatched them up! No SSC though and no spot for her anymore :( Still no other Care Bears other than Share and Cheer (whom I already have). Lots of new toy lines though. They completely reset my Target. All of the aisles are different.

I might be interested in some stuff, but it would be helpful to have prices :)

I have about a dozen of these dolls in various characters all MIB, but some boxes show wear. Can anyone tell me a decent price for them? I am having a hard time finding anything on Etsy or Ebay. Thanks!

@Icey- Im not sure what you mean by G1 turtles?

I think they may be too small now that I think about it. My son has a collection of G1 TMNT figures a friend gave him and he is bummed we cannot find a decent way to display them. But I think they are bigger than the G4 ponies.

Wow, amazing! Where did you get those clear shelves at? Would they fit G1 turtles?

There's no reason to advertise to people like us who are following a 29 page thread about them, lol.  Gotta reach the people who wouldn't otherwise hear about them.

True. I was thinking about my post from yesterday and imagine myself being the old lady in the neighborhood who yells at the kids to get off her lawn while throwing fakies at them - LOL! JK, I am not that old :P

Strawberry Shortcake is where I really think they drop the ball. There are very few active SSC fan boards out there anymore. The only one I know that is left is dead.

This is me being VERY hopeful here, but did anyone else unbox their rainbow ponies (don't judge me. Starshine smells like freaking marshmallows and I just had to sniff at her!) Only to notice the inner box art features Seaponies as well as Sprinkles, the waterfall, Duck Soup and Brandy the dog? OMG, is this a sign of things to come?! Cross ALL your fingers! Unicorns and Pegasus are next, according to the Basic Fun toy company!!

I did notice that. I am running out of room, so I went and deboxed both sets (collector and rainbow) and kept the insert from one box. I have never in my entire life owned a sea pony. I would love one!

They sent Collector ponies to various toy and "cutesy" (I don't know how else to describe them? bloggers with a pastel aesthetic?) Youtube bloggers, which was a pretty savvy move.  A great way to get free publicity among audiences who are already into that 'look', for no more than $20 or $30 a pop.

That is cool if you follow bloggers. I am not really into that. I am an old fart - LOL!
