Pony Corral / Re: What's Your Pony Number?
« on: March 07, 2018, 11:26:42 PM »
My last count was several years ago so I know it is more than 850. I've been intending to do a recount for ages.

I'm @bargainbinredhead. I mainly post ponies and sometimes my other toy collections. I'm currently posting a different pony photo each day until I've posted my entire collection. That's 870+ ponies. It's going to take years.

I've been tempted to change my name to something more pony related but my friends say they can't imagine my account with any other name.

Off Topic / Re: The Unicorn Trend
« on: March 01, 2018, 02:19:53 AM »
Whilst I'm very happy riding the unicorn trend train, I really dislike unicorns and the idea of vomiting/pooping rainbows, which is unfortunately quite popular also. I've always been a unicorn fan and the rainbow vomit/poop idea is just so old to me that for it to be repeated constantly as if it's funny just bugs me now.

I also have a pet peeve over alicorns being called unicorns, unipegs and pegacorns but I've always been like that.

I do love that I can type 'unicorn' into the search bar of most online stores and have pages of stuff come up. I have unicorn bed sheets on my double bed. Not a kid's size single bed. What a time to be alive!

I was recently in a toy store in a small town that still has toys from the 80's, 90's and 00's for sale at their original price.  They had a ton of original Sylvanian Families couches and wardrobes.  Sadly there were a lot of old plush toys that have been sitting on high shelves for literally decades and are covered in dust and dirt.  There was a big plush elephant on clearance for $30.  Mould on the tusks, fur thick with dust.  You would have to pay someone to take it. It was like stepping back in time.

Nursery Families are very rare, some sets rarer than others. They are valuable but because not a lot of people collect Lil Litters and even fewer extend to collect Nursery Families, so they aren't the easiest thing to sell. The people who want them, are usually willing to pay a significant amount for them however.

The Sweet Dreams Poodle and Perky Persians are easily the hardest the find and therefore, most expensive. The Sudsy Angora is probably the next hardest to find. After that the Funtime Spaniels.

The Sleepy Time Siamese and Scrub-a-dub Spaniels appear the most frequently on eBay it seems, but over all, still rare.

Prices vary a great deal. It depends on the demand. I've paid anywhere between $25 and $130 for one baby.

For this set, $65 is a fair price per baby. It's a fair middle range price that doesn't make either the seller or buyer feel ripped off. The mom depending on how that sun fading goes, is maybe $45-$50. I assume you are selling them as a set, so I personally would let all 3 go at once for $160.

Hope that helps!

Pony Corral / Re: Retro MLP stationery spotted at Typo
« on: September 09, 2013, 06:18:39 AM »
Here are the items I bought on Sunday. Typo didn't have all the items in stock but this is the sticker book, pencil case, small pouch and iPhone case. The other side of the pouch is shown on the website, it just says "My Little Pony".

I was wrong when I said the sticker book is only 4 pages, it's 6, but only 24 are of ponies. On one page, the ponies have sparkly eyes.

I'll put up a photo of the sticker book when I get tonight. I will say that it is disappointing though (especially for that price). It's 4 pages of stickers, 2 of which are alphabet letters and 2 are ponies, but only about 12 pony stickers total.

A transforma is a tablet case that folds into a stand.

The only Popple I had as a kid was the blue rock star one. Then I found the pink matching one in an op shop and had to buy it.

I will say that Popples was an extremely weird tv show!

I was diagnosed with it last year but in hindsight, have probably had it for several years. My ex couldn't really understand it or deal with it, even though he was the one who noticed the symptoms.

Pony Corral / Re: Question: most popular pony of all time?
« on: February 12, 2013, 12:57:04 PM »
In childhood collections, Applejack is a high rater. She is in nearly every lot I come across and when it bought someone's childhood collection, the one pony they often keep is Applejack. There are also an amazing amount of Cotton Candys in the world.

The most popular pony between collectors however is probably Ice Crystal or Mimic. If they were easier to find and cheaper, I think nearly everyone would have them.

Off Topic / Re: Puppy name help please :)
« on: February 09, 2013, 08:14:46 PM »
If you already own a dog with the word "Belle" in it's name, it might be confusing for them if you use it in the puppy's name.

I'm inclined to suggest pony names that belong to tiny ponies like the teeny tinys or newborns. However, Cherries Jubilee sounds like a good option as it contains elements of the other dogs names. She is also a colour similar to Cherries Jubilee.

I give all of my pets middle names (my cat has 8!) so if she were my dog I would probably call her Cherries Jubilee Pretty Belle.

I'm curious as to how much one is devalued by removing it from its packaging. Does anyone have an ideas? Is it frowned upon in the same manner deboxing a G1 is or is it considered ok?

How can you not love Davy Jones?! I cried when I heard of his death. So sad that the other members were not allowed to attend the funeral.
