Tough question.  I'd probably want an army not a lot of people would have... Galaxy - or Up Up and Away - or maybe Glory?  Whizzer?  (Heck, yes, Gusty, too.)  :P

Mmmm cheese.  I don't care for bleu, goat, cottage, or feta, but I'm pretty good with most other types...

My favorites are provolone (mmm...if you're in St. Louis, try Imo's pizza) and mozzarella :)

Oooo thank you for the quick links!  (And I agree, Daffodil - Argie Sweet Tooth is divine, too! -- and the Spanish version!)

I don't know which to go after first.  They're all so adorable...  If the Spanish one is around $100 that wouldn't be too bad...oooo but that Brazil one...

Guess I'll just keep my eyes peeled at whichever versions would come up first lol

Thanks again!

MLP Nirvana / Up Up and Away
« on: January 09, 2016, 12:11:19 PM »
Hey, all!  Everytime I see a nirvana of Up Up and Away, I have the strongest urge to buy it - yet - for whatever reason (though mostly monetary I'm sure lol), I haven't yet.

I seriously don't know why I am drawn to Up Up and Away...I'm not particularly fond of pink (or balloons :P), but there just must be something about her.  I'm that way with Galaxy though, too.  Will wonders never cease?

Sooooo my questions are...

How many nirvanas of Up Up and Away are there?  Do you have any pictures you can share with me?

(And, I suppose, if you are selling any Nirvana Up Up and Aways, don't hesitate to point me in that direction, either, just in case lol)

Pony Corral / Re: Insured ponies

I talked with my insurance agent about this semi-recently.  Most standard homeowners insurance policies will include at least a little coverage toward a small collection; however, with the extent that many of our collections are, it exceeds the coverage that a standard policy covers.

My agent said I would need an appraiser to come in - or if there was a book to show value, they would accept that, as well.  I love Summer's book, but since it was published years ago, some of the prices are a bit out of date.  As for a toy appraiser... I struggle to see who would actually be able to come in an appraise each pony value better than me or one of my other few pony friends nearby (in the region anyway :)

I may just go with book value on the mint side to at least get a ballpark - and it'd be better than nothing!

**I may explore other options since I think there are other ways to go about insuring them! - or other venues I can use.

Wanted! / Re: G1s Needed to complete my collection!

Bumping up with updates :)

As of yesterday evening my seller had not yet heard back from the other buyer.  She said she would refund my money in full (and she did today), and she also suggested to me that I keep the two petites sent in error.

Aside from not having the petites I originally wanted, everything worked out in the end in terms of getting a refund and good communication between the seller and me.

There are good sellers still on eBay :)  Mistakes happen, so I'm just happy we were able to come to a peaceful resolution!

Off Topic / Re: The best way to travel across United States?
« on: December 28, 2015, 09:38:50 PM »
I can't say much on different transportation modes (we usually drive everywhere...literally everywhere... driven to 47 of the 48 continental states, lol)... but here's something else to keep in mind:

January in parts of the U.S. can be extremely snowy/icy.  In the more southern parts of the southern states you should be fine, but if you are going to incorporate Wyoming into a January trip, be sure you have a mode of transportation that will allow you to combat any wintery weather you may encounter.  You may want to fly in to Jackson, WY (or thereabouts) and spend a few days exploring Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National PArk (may need to access by snowmobiles, tours, or skiis - not sure - but it'd be awesome).  Wyoming is one of my top states - and Grand Teton/Yellowstone is one of my favorite places I've ever been.  Gorgeous!

The Grand Canyon does spread among many states, so picking either the northern or southern rim may be the easiest thing to do there.

Sounds like you have quite the trip ahead of you!  I'm so jealous :)

I just heard back from the seller and she says she did accidentally send the wrong petites to the wrong person.  She said she has reached out to the other buyer but hasn't heard back yet.  I suggested a few different options, so we'll see what she says.  At least she is trying her best to work this out so far!  Fingers crossed for an easy resolution.

On December 12, I purchased a lot of 4 petite ponies from a seller on eBay.  In the description it noted that the seller only ships 1 or 2 times per week, so I assumed the shipping would be a bit slow.  No big deal.  I kept waiting and waiting... it was finally shipped out on 12/21 (9 days later but...whatever).  I know things can get hectic, especially this time of year.

Well, it came in today wrapped in a tiny envelope...and only two petites were in it.  One of them was not even the petite I bought.  I took a picture of the petites that came in the mail and sent the following to the seller:

"Good afternoon! I received a package from you today, and I believe I received someone else's order. My lot should have had four petites, and I only received two (one is a pink earth pony with curly hair and one is the blue earth pony with pink hair). The blue earth pony is the one in the picture, and the pink earth pony with curly yellow hair is not in the picture at all. Please advise within the next couple of days on how you recommend proceeding.
Thanks!"

(Reading back my message now, I meant to put "I may have received someone else's order" - but oh well - too late now oops.)

Now, again, I know it's a busy time of year - and things can get crazy and misplaced (I'm pretty easy going with stuff) - but just IN CASE things do not go smoothly...

What should my timeline be?  Wait for a couple of days for a response... then hopefully the seller will realize the error and send me the rest of my items?

If she is being difficult for some reason, what is the time limit on opening a claim?

Thanks for the help! :)

Pony Corral / Re: Collections Goals for 2016?
« on: December 12, 2015, 06:34:54 PM »
1)  Complete my US G1 Collection   (Mail Order Baby - you shall be mine...soon hopefully) - Then I just need to finish Dream Beauties and petites.

2)  Catalog my collection with pictures of each pony (ok, that's a very lofty goal for me - but at least the inventory book is up-to-date!)

3)  CLEAN some of my ponies that have been on display and not cleaned since I used to play with them 20+ years ago...

4)  Hopefully re-organize the pony "room" with some new shelves (since we had an IKEA open up here in St. Louis recently... :))

5) SELL most of my G3s!! (ahem - so if you're looking for any in particular, let me know!)

I love reading everyone's goals!  Best of luck to us all!

Price Check Archives / Re: PC for G1 TAF Babies

In my opinion...On average they will all run around $70 - 85...sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less.
I personally think Baby Love Melody goes on the lower end - and sometimes Up up and Away and Dancing Butterflies go on the higher end (at least they have been recently).  :)

Super wonderful slice of your collection! :D  Congrats on this amazing accomplishment!
