Such a super exciting find!  Congratulations! I'm so glad she went home with someone who really loves her.

Just bought her a few weeks ago! I love wingers, they're so adorably cute.

Have her. She was perfect when I bought her, but recently when I looked at her she's developed regrind. Sigh.

Have her. I really don't like the BBE ponies, they just creep me out. Poor Lickety.

Pony Corral / Re: So soft or Deflocked?
« on: June 17, 2020, 01:36:52 PM »
They're just ordinary ponies without the flocking, so I'm personally all for So Softs. I love them when their flocking is mint and thick, I think they look fuzzy and adorable. That said, if the flocking is in terrible condition, I think de-flocking is great. The ponies get a second chance and they really do look amazing. I only have one de-flock, and she sold me on them completely. But ONLY if the flocking is in extremely poor condition. Recently saw someone deflock a beautiful and flawless Crumpet - it made me very sad.

Have the two standard US version of her, with regular eyes and BBE. I like Lickety, she's a cutie.

Pony Corral / Re: Question about storage
« on: June 15, 2020, 06:17:39 AM »
I personally prefer storing my ponies in shallow storage bins so that my ponies are standing. That way their hair doesn't get messed up and their bodies won't warp. I know a lot of people store their ponies in individual ziplock bags, but I've never found the need to this myself.

As Shaiyeh said, there are a limited number of G1 ponies remaining, and they will dwindle further as time passes. In the coming decades as the ponies age, their conditions will deteriorate as the plastics naturally break down with time. That leaves fewer in circulation for collectors. G1s are just getting so much older now that I think they deserve to be retired from child's play. Perhaps my motives are selfish for wanting to keep them in good condition so that they can be appreciated by collectors, but I always cringe inside when I see kids playing with G1s.

G3 ponies are easier to come by at good prices and are still common, and the Basic Fun repro ponies are a great option for play as well.

Pony Corral / Re: Let's talk about Wingers!
« on: June 15, 2020, 05:05:17 AM »
I really love wingers! Never had any of them as a child, but one of my MLP activity/colouring books had a colourful illustration of them on the cover and I've wanted them ever since. I'd always assumed they were the same size as regular ponies, but I was surprised and delighted when I got my first one and found they were actually much smaller and quite petite. Definitely some of the cutest ponies around.

Here's a picture I took a few weeks ago which shows most of mine. Buzzer came just a few days ago and I haven't had the chance to photograph her yet.
