Yay a pet thread!! I love every opportunity to post pictures of my landcloud
Give your sweet Maddy a big cuddle, she looks like a really good girl

This is my landcloud Kimba. She is a 4 yrs old rescue Samoyed, and with my partner and me for a year now.

Pony Corral / Re: Taming Pony Bride's tinsel?
« on: April 02, 2019, 06:29:40 AM »
Haven't tried it on a Bride yet, but I had a few Princesses with crimped and curly tinsel. I used my flat iron on it to straighten it out again and it worked like a charm. Lots of heat protection cream, medium heat setting (I went as high as ~120 °C), and slow, careful use of the iron, and the tinsel looked like new!

I ordered recently and everything arrived in time (despite me being in EU) and as ordered, so I'd say yes, running smoothly at the moment. :)

Ah, so I can see and buy/bid on auctions as an international seller even if the seller does not accept international buyers? I didn't know that. How impractical!

Yes to PP verified and the same mailing/billing address; I use different addresses for PP and ebay however. I've bought quite a few things on eBay before though and it always went through, so it generally works on my end, just not for that one (respectively two) auctions from this one seller.

Yes, I contacted eBay because the payment troubles were with all payment methods, not only PayPal. If it had been only with PayPal (or direct transfer, since this is being handled via PayPal here), I would have contacted PP. I am aware the copy & pasted error message mentions PP. Thank you for trying to help, banditpony!

Doesn't really matter anymore anyways, I guess, since the auctions are gone now. :(

No, no typo. copy and paste of the message (I only removed the bullet points for easier formatting). The eBay support guy was very explicit and repeatedly told me that they (PayPal) cannot assist. He had this information from their internal info systems from what I gathered, saying that he has looked up the error message and then reading to me what it said. I only ever was in touch with eBays customer support team once for a hijacked account, and they were great with that. The experience now indeed was less stellar.

The seller has not replied.

I've send the seller a message when my payment didn't go through and informed them that I need to contact support so that they aren't worried. Since eBay support said that this error message is something that paypal cannot assist with, either and that there is no use to contact them, I did not. Do you think they would be able to help despite the information I got from eBay?

Trader & Shipping Support / Ebay payment troubles

I've just been on a half an hour phone call with eBay's customer support without avail, so I am asking here, maybe someone has an idea:

On Monday evening, I tried to buy two ponies from an US seller via "Buy it now". When I went to checkout and picked PayPal like always, it returned an error and told me to use a different method. I had two others available (direct transfer and CC), but neither of these work, I always get "Sorry, this payment option isn't available. Here are your options: Select a different payment option. Contact PayPal customer service to resolve this issue."

In a nutshell, Customer support has no idea why it doesn't work, and the only advice they had was to tell me to contact the seller directly, ask for their paypal, and then do a paypal transaction directly from paypal. I've tried a different browser, the phone app, my partner's paypal account, my partner's credit card, buying the articles via ebay.at and ebay.co.uk - nothing works. eBay's support said that this error message cannot be circumvented by paypal itself either, so it's no use to contact them about it.

Has anyone else ever experienced this and found a way to resolve it? I've given up now and with lots of remorse removed the articles from my cart. They are still available on the seller's page so they haven't been sold yet. I'm a bit heartbroken because I really, really wanted one of those two ponies and I haven't had lots of luck with ebay or seller groups lately, no one seems to offer ponies I want in decent condition :(

Pony Corral / Re: 35th Anniversary Collectors Pony's - Part 2!
« on: March 19, 2019, 02:05:29 AM »
Does anyone know where/when they are available in Germany, or any Dutch shops? I found the collector's pose ones and the first rainbow wave on amazon, and some others (Seashell, Bubbles, Applejack, Bow Tie) on a Danish shop that delivers to Germany, but no sign of Tickles, Confetti & co anywhere near or far.

I've never come across a pony in the wild. If it was a G1, I'd take it with me as long as the price is somewhat reasonable, just out of pure excitement to actually find a pony on a flea market/thrift shop.

Since I enjoy cleaning them up and fixing smaller things, and still need lots of experience here, it wouldn't be a waste. I've also just stepped into the world that is rerooting, found it pretty chillaxing, and now need more candidates to let me poke them with the pointy end, lol

Introductions / Active again!
« on: March 05, 2019, 09:29:07 AM »
Hey everyone!

I am back in the collector's business after a few years of hiatus and thought I'd make a new introduction posting! This is my original introduction thread.

Since I returned only recently, I have only added a few new members to the herd. I found out about the 35 years anniversary ponies, and of course I need all of them! So far, I was able to obtain a few of them:

Other than that, I have been trying my hands at rerooting for the very first time, and the result actually looks decent, so once the proper tool and all the hair I ordered arrives, I'll have a loooooot to do here! Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to find any of my original ponies out there, but you never know. Maybe one day I'll find my initials under the hoofs of a pony! I'm still planning on rebuilding my original collection.
My tumblr has retired during my absence, but I made an Instagram account for my pony things when I became active again.

As for the personal bits of information in my original introduction posting - I'm no longer in my 30s  but I feel much better since I changed my diet and started to go running regularly. The bunnies have hopped over the rainbow bridge, but we have a fluffy landcloud dog now! No resin casting anymore, but I am still on the same job and also kept the partner. Not married yet (still not!), but it is finally on the plan for this year.

Still probably being more of a lurker (I'll never make it into the Wine Cellar! :D ) but maybe I can add something from time to time. :)

Thank you guys so much for commenting (here and on YouTube), liking and even subscribing! :) I was very nervous about the video, I regularly do videos/streams with voice commentary for work but never yet a video that shows me (even if it is only my hands), so it was a first!

Yeah, I actually didn't think of the mold issue, as I never had to really deal with it here myself other than on newly acquired ponies. I used many of my childhood ponies as bath toys, and to this day they didn't develop any mold even though they were submerged in water a loooot, haha :D But this might very well be because of the climate here or any other reason, and does not mean it won't happen to others, so I should take this into account if I make another video.

Pony Corral / How to de-frizz pony hair - made my first video tutorial
« on: March 28, 2016, 12:36:21 PM »
Some time ago I promised to make a video on how I de-frizz pony hair with a flat iron. It took me a while, mainly because I was lacking a decent camera (bought one just for this video, oh my), but I've finally come around now and am very proud to present it to all of you!

Please let me know if you notice anything I could do better. I hope it helps and explains how I treat pony hair!

You can find the video here: https://youtu.be/UNaGuPRXiE4

Thanks everyone who watches it, I hope you enjoy it!
