Ugh well I just double checked mine.  Her hair has rotted.  The pink has pretty much fallen out.  glad I thought to check.

She looks great with her new longer hair :)

I didn't know the Avon ponies had bad hair.  My Jazz Matazz still has great hair.

I've had my pony in with my other ponies in a box since about 2007.  Nothing was wrapped around them, so she was up against a few ponies.  Everyone else is looking good.  But still when they have to go back into storage for whatever reason I'll probably wrap her up some.

I'll get a few pictures of her eventually.  Her plastic is doing some weird things and I'm not sure if that's how she normally was or if it's an aging thing.

These ponies are from 2006 so they're deteriorating after only 7-8 years.

I hear sticky ponies can be lightly dusted with talcum powder every couple months to keep the stickiness in check, but this is only a temporary fix and not a solution, and I'm not sure if it works on clear ponies. :(

More of my question was how long did it take the ones that have lost their color and glitter.  Did it happen recently or a while back?  Because we have some that are still in good shape, that I am wondering if they will stay in good shape or go the way of the ones that were pictured earlier.  I just think it's interesting that some will be fine but other aren't even when kept in the same conditions.

And to figure out what I'll do with my girl...

How soon or long did it take to dissolve?  Can anything be done about it?  Or do we just deal with it?

My girl is still in really nice shape aside from being sticky.  What's a good way to get her less sticky?  I've had her new from the store, so I'm hoping if her glitter hasn't dissolved or she hasn't discolored yet she won't.

I was just about to ask about this.  I have a Glitterbelle who still looks good, but it pretty sticky.  She's been in a box for about 7 years or so with other ponies.  Hasn't been in direct light or any that entire time.  Makes me wonder if she'll get worse.  I was able to get her some what less sticky washing her with dish soap.

I live in a dry hot area but with my AC going, my apartment really gets above 80 nowadays.

I have a few, but they still look odd to me.  Ah and someone's going to throw something at me for this, but I'm kind of tired of hearing the word bronie (and that will be the last time I type that).  Maybe because I haven't been aware of the negativity surround it until recently, not saying all of them are negative about other Gens.  But why the hate for the older Gens....?

Maybe I should just stay away from Youtube comments  -_-

I'm a deboxer unless it's a pony I know will have a better value staying in its box.  I have few things that are still MIB, such as Pony Projects both black and white, Bay Breeze and my 50 first Fizzy Pop (that one has to stay MIB or you couldn't tell it was one of the first 50).  Trolley would have also stayed MIB but her bag was ripped open when I got her new soooo I have her bag and card and it stays with her.  I'm debating on freeing her hair from the plastic holder.

The quality is also so disheartening. 6-7 dollars for a brushable typically at target, and they're half the size of G3's with a m uc more limited selection... I don't know why hasbro took this route.

AAaah this.  I look at the $4 pony that's so much smaller than the G3s I used to buy new at store and feel cheated.  I bought a blind bag today and felt the same way again.  It's cute but poorly painted.  I don't know why but I was kind of expecting more than one in the bag.  I don't mind the size because I have Ponyville figures, but still.  It's a cute line if I didn't know the other gens and had watched the show.  I've seen a few episodes recently but I've had a hard time getting into it.  Does look like it is better than the old cartoons, saying this as a not G4 person.

Pony Corral / Re: What is your favourite Gen of ponies to collect?
« on: March 21, 2014, 06:52:46 PM »
I collect mostly G3s so I put that, they are (as well as G1) my favorite gen.  G3s just are easier to find in good condition.  The G1s I do have are my childhood ponies, except for a few I bought as an adult.  The poor things had it rough tho :(  I don't actively look for G1s but I'd never turn down a boy pony :D  I want more!  Haha I only have two.

Pony Corral / Re: Missing the days of pony shopping in stores!

The days of G1 are long gone sadly. Most places have small MLP displays, squashed in between other lines. And largely taken up with mane six repeats. I get it, it's what kids want. But I remember being a kid and loving the diversity. If I was a kid now I'd be annoyed.

Ooooh I loved all the different ponies as a kid.  I still do.  Differences in generations I suppose.  At least with the G4 only being a few characters I won't get into collecting them as I did the G3s.

I grew up with the G1 but my family didn't take me pony shopping all that often.  But when I was an adult with the G3 I did.  Loved all the new and different ponies.

The G4 aisles are tiny and I'm sorry who like them, but they are weird looking.  Not in a bad way, just weird in they don't look like My Little Ponies to me.  So I'd just check them out a few times here and there.  Finally bought a few last week, but I'm not going to collect them.

Pony Corral / Re: All the G3 Love
« on: March 20, 2014, 11:55:24 PM »
Oooh I love G3 and don't tell G1 but I'm pretty sure it's my favorite gen.  I am a G3 collector with a few G1s (mostly my poor dirty childhood ponies) and a very tiny amount of G4 thrown in.

Anyway I grew up with G1 and to me that is MLP.  So when G3 (didn't know about G2) came out that looked similar to G1 they brought me right back to my childhood and made me warm and fuzzy.  I started collecting them when they first came out, but missed the last couple of years due to stupid life issues.  So I haven't been actively collecting ponies since 2006 :(.  Then the G4s came out and I'm sorry but they aren't the ponies I know.  They are just so odd looking haha.  So a few weeks ago I got my ponies out of the boxes and started cleaning them, sell off the ones I don't like.  Of course I remembered why I loved them in the first place and I already have a few G3s on the way, so much for trying to down size

I even bought a few G4.  That's staying that way.  I'm a little bit disappointed that they are smaller than my G3s for pretty much the same price.

I will get updated pics of my set up, but here are some old ones.

Anyway that's a small sampling.

Looks like fun.  I'm in the Sacramento area, but my Saturdays are tied up by work.  Maybe I'll catch it another time :)

Ok so I've looked and I've only confused myself   but every time I got to bump my sales topic it merges my reply with the original message and doesn't bump my topic.

How do people bump stuff?  I've seen it done....
