Aw man, I was born in 1984, and G1 was just the right timing for me as a kid. I adored playing with ponies as a little kid. Here's some spesific stuff:
- Finding a very chewed up and dirty Locket in the bushes in a park we frequented. - Packing all of my 20 or so ponies in a cloth bag my grandmother made for me and taking them over to my best friends' house to have very long epic story-lines acted out (including a huge war with the trolls, several stories involving wizards, and weird things involving psychotic child armies). - Playing with my ponies under one of the desks at my parent's new office when they started their own business in the market crash of the early 90s. My dad made all the office furniture, and it was a good place for a kid to camp out and think of spelunking. - Picking out the Pony Bride at Toy's R Us on a gift certificate given to me by some distant relation for... I guess what must have been my seventh birthday. (My parents didn't care to go to Toy's R Us, many of my ponies came from drugstores and the local toy store.) - Being so excited to wait for Pearly Baby Moondancer and Pearly Baby Firefly after sending in pony points. I wondered if I would get them, as they were my first choice, or if they'd be replaced by different ponies if they wern't available. - Nesting ponies in the costume feather boas I had. I loved birds and I think I gave the ponies more bird like biology when I was very little, until I knew more about horses.

I have both her, and I really love the seated pose ponies, I think it's very sweet, pity they didn't play well, and seemed to make Hasbro shy away from vastly different poses from just standing. visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I just deflocked a whole bunch! I'd never done it before and wanted to give it a try. I'll be keeping Angel and Magic Star in my own collection. visitors can't see pics , please register or login visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login

A childhood pony for me! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI don't think I played with her very much, her hair is still pink and she still has most of her factory curl.

I've kept the five I've had since childhood, though I don't know if they're something I'd ever display, which means I'm not sure if I'll hang on to them forever. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginLots of memories in these things though!

visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI favor a very small collection (though this is missing a couple recent acquisitions). I have a childhood herd I'd like to display, but lack the space for (about 20 or so ponies).

One of my childhood herd, she was the first Sweetheart Sister I got: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginShe reminded me of my favorite centaurs in Disney's Fantasia, so I was always fond of her. Looks like I need to flat iron her hair at some point!

AWESOME pindot removal - PLEASE let us know your secret to such a clean result - do you use a special soap or is it really just lots of patience and rub, rub, rub?
Aw man I really appreciate all the kind words guys! For everyone asking on the pindot; it's mostly just elbow grease. I wash the ponies with really hot water (as hot as I can stand to work with) which softens the vinyl* , then just scrub scrub scrub, I usually use my fingernails to help scrape the mold out. If you don't have strong fingernails, a thin piece of plastic like a credit card, palate knife, or maybe even a piece of plastic packaging might work. I also use just a basic detergent to help clean and disinfect. *(don't worry, if you're not familiar with this, they'll firm back up when cool.)

I hope this isn't too controversial; but for unpopular opinions, I am not comfortable with the legality of Genie, Puppy Luv, and Kitty Luv (etc.).

She's one of the few ponies I remember picking out in the store as a kid (I would have been six or seven). I thought she was so pretty and special (especially in that fancy half-circle packaging). Can't say I had any feelings about the 'bridal' theme, everything was just props to play with, I don't think I remember ever playing at her getting married, though I think she may have shown up as a 'ghostly bride'. I have her and all of her stuff still, I think this a very sweet and pretty sculpt/pose. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login

I have an SS Wind Whistler that has been started as a deflock project, and a SS Angel -- whom I need to check condition on -- but I believe she is missing a tail looks as if she might have already been started as a deflock project. Also have a few baity G1s laying around. Let me know if you are interested
I'm definitely interested! Send me a PM, and I'd love to buy! Post Merge: October 25, 2017, 05:42:20 PMI've Shady which I tried to deflock but gave up on. Please save her!
I'd love to! Send me a PM and I'd be happy to buy her!

I've decided it's time for me to do some more pony restorations, and I'd really love to try my hand at de-flocking. It's just about the only form of restoration I'm interested in that I've not tried. I'm not picky, since this is for a particular kind of restoration, and so long as the body is solid (no chews/missing bits) nothing else really makes much difference. I can always re-hair if need be. It might go without saying, but I'm really only interested in ponies that are in poor enough condition to merit de-flocking, if the flocking still looks good, I'm not keen to mess with them. Additionally, also always looking for any super baity ponies (any gen) or Monster High (with articulated arms/knees) too. Stuff that's generally considered 'unsalvagable' (marker, chews, discoloration etc.) or half-finished custom projects that never worked out is absolutely my cuppa, (although de-flocks are my first priority right now). (If you're curious I have some examples of my restorations here: http://mlpmemories.tumblr.com/tagged/Before-and-After.) As I'm not online too much, please PM me if this is something you may have to offer! I always check my messages.

Not counting the petite carousel I had: - Brush Me Beautiful Boutique - Sweet Dreams Crib - Scrub-a-Dub Tub - Rock-a-Bye Bed - Poof 'n Puff Perfume Palace Playsets are kindof a pain to photograph, most of these made it through with all of their bits and pieces though a few things went missing. I still wouldn't mind a full-sized stylized Sea Pony shower curtain. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login
